Profiles with a lengthy list of don't likes a turn off?

Does anyone else find long profiles with a list of dont's a bore and a turn off? I'm ok if there's a few but when you're confronted with 5 or more it sucks the fun out of it, even if we fit the strict critera!

Not that fussed. If it helps us decide whether we'd be compatible or not, then it's a good thing.

Pressed post too soon...give a list of things you like to do, it gives a much more positive vibe to whoever's reading your profile!

You have a great profile, listing lots of things you like and it makes you come across as positive and interesting! If you flip it to say the opposite (don't lime this, that and the other) It would make you look like a moaner...and not in a good way  Happy swinging!!

Massive turn off, negativity is not attractive, its easier to list what you like.

Ones that read like war and peace make an excellent filter ...

And ones where they have C&P old verifications into the text ...

And ones that have loads of crap jokes as a filler

Negativity is a turn off full stop, I'm attracted to happy positive people despite not always being one myself.

Absolutely. I despise reading a profile that's more of a rule book.

Yes, instant block for me; don't want to be sharing some fun, while checking a notice board on the wall of what is permissible..........

Our profile is too long, but each time we go to take something out, we don't! Our first paragraph works as a great filter, hope our profile doesn't come over as negative

Just had a quick look. That first paragraph could lose you genuine people as well as acting as a filter i think. Totally understand why you have done it though.

Maybe, but we prefer to think it filters out the lazy, those with no sense of humour and the impatient, all people we wouldn't want to meet anyway, but yes we may lose a few genuine people, but not sure how to define genuine on fab! X

Ours is long, full of crap jokes and has a list of both dos and do nots. However, we get more than enough people who make positive comments about it. So guess we are doing something right?

I don't enjoy reading long profiles as there aren't many people who can write anything interesting enough to keep my attention.

Lists are boring.

I find it helps us decide wether or not we would be a match tbh.

I think it can be good to see what people want upfront ,so people dont waste time swapping messages.

Ignoring them is much less time consuming than starting a forum thread about them

They are generally either a list of demands or a write-up of how fantastic the user would like to think they are.

So yeah, a turn-off for us.

I think you'll find when a fantastic and gorgeous looking couple have a profile. . You could just quote Shakespeare on it and people would still flock to your inbox in their droves.

Understandably a lot of Fab is about looks (don't blame anyone as I do the same).

What is more weird is that you felt the need to beautify your profile? I'm sure you crammed full inbox speaks volumes all by itself.

Personally we use the profile as a filter.

If people don't bother to read it then we don't bother to message them.

Would rather have rules in the profile so people know straight up what we are into.

If people don't like that then oh well.

Saves us time from having to say it to everyone that asks for a meet.

We get plenty of offers so must be doing something right

It's sad that so many people feel the need to list all those things. They don't sign up and write those profiles, they evolve from experience.

Yeah, totally.

Due to my independent streak, it is definitely not someone I would be able to sign up to anyway. I don't do rules very well.

But flip a profile from negative dislikes to positive likes and it totally changes the outlook. People see a relatable person behind the profile. I find that the people I want to really meet are often the ones that write like they are actually talking to me face to face.

A profile has to state likes and dislikes

We pass by profiles which are not a whole lot more than, "we wanna fuck"

Fab is about finding others that attract you of course. However, whilst I thank you for the compliments I have to let you in on a secret - our in box is never full. Often completely empty.

Plus I am not sure what beautifying a profile even means! If it means that there are recent honest pictures of both of us and that we have spent more than 10 seconds writing something, then we are indeed guilty.

Once, as a child, I ran through some farmers fields as well - so naughty!
