Female cross dressers

Is there such a thing as female cross dressers etc. I've never seen any sign that girls get a kick out of wearing men's clothes and take on the persona of being a man, it appears to be a purely male pastime to properly cross dress??

You sometimes find in a female couple ... one is more male than the other ...

My friend ( female) is married to another lady ... my friend is always on either jeans tee shirts ... 3/4 shorts ....

And always wears aftershave ...

I appreciate your replies but you don't seem to get straight girls.. especially here saying they like to go home after work, put on a pair of boxers or Calvin's, a pair of rigging boots and pretend to be a man, or go out into public pretending to be male?..

What really constitutes male or female clothing? General,everyday wear is not really gender specific in any sense other than that we are told it is. e.g there is no real,practical reason why a bowler hat,shirt and tie should be the exclusive domain of guys or that cute little sandals with a flower motif (I just got those yesterday) on them should be for women only. You could even say that a bra is designed for anyone who needs a bra and that could apply to some men equally as to women.

If 'crossdressing' men are more attracted to the type of clothing that feels and looks sexier to them that would possibly explain to some extent, 'male' clothing just doesn't seem to have the same appeal.

When men dress as females it is usually the extreme of what women wear - dress, lacy stuff, high heels, full make up. Never or hardly ever jeans, leggings, trousers, gender neutral stuff which women also wear, and little or no make up.

I know of one who is quite active on tvchix. Maybe it's the lack of variety in the male wardrobe that puts most women off.

Clothing that makes a person appear particularly feminine or sexy are easy to come by. Not so much for men. That's why finding clothes for a costume party for instance that will adequately portray strength, masculinity or other such traits that can be considered sexy in a man is often not too easy. At least, so I've found... I think the manly persona is more about attitude and carriage and less about clothing...

Actual men's clothing would be a poor fit on a female, due to men having much smaller hips than women. We already dress like men by wearing trousers and suits. We have female versions of boxers too. Females wear DR Martin's too, they are quite manly. So in reality lots of females dress in a masculine manner.
