Sorry op that was uncalled for.

However, hubby had a long term fb, they both got tested, became a three way thing.

Surely common sense prevails over fiction.

Might be sensationalising, and there are risks, just apply thought to the dynamic, context, situation.

Right going back to my single profile and leve hubby in the shit....

Not the best review,

it's about the way people thought about aids , he was a macho man (they're called knobheads these days) he thought it was a gay disease that wouldn't affect him because he wasn't gay and wasn't a druggie, I find the defensive attitude of some quite scary and thick!

This whole , it's my life I'll do what I chose blah blah bollocks shows how people have learned fuck all! Since the 80s

You have point op, just a tad outdated, and I say this, from my perception, awareness is not a bad thing in this world.

Outdated???"

I think the OP's point is valid, HIV continues to be spread in the UK and in MY experience of the straight, bi and gay swinger worlds people are still of the opinion that it wont happen to them. HIV is controllable by drugs and there is a preventative medication called PrEP available but this only safeguards against HIV, look at the antibiotic resistant strain of Gonorrhoea doing the rounds, if everyone could practice safe sex then these diseases could be wiped out or at least minimised.

The OP has used a very good film to raise awareness of a very nasty disease, without preaching, and has been denounced for it.

Your casual partner may say they have been "recently tested" but just like a car MOT, its only really valid at the time of the test, you don't know who might have given them what in the time since then.

I have had unprotected casual sex, its awesome and I love it, but it is never worth the three months of worry waiting to get tested to see if I have HIV. I am happy to say that every test I have had has been negative for everything.

The OP's post has made you think about it, that is a good thing, despite the negative replies, the OP is LOOKING OUT FOR YOUR HEALTH AND THE HEALTH OF YOUR PARTNERS, that is to be applauded, not decried.

On another note, Matthew McConaughey shed 3st 7lb to play the role of Ron Woodroof, fair enough he got paid a shit load for it but that is dedication, he was 10st! Matt Mc is one of my favourite actors and in my list of three man crushes I have (with Ryan Reynolds and Zac Efron). Erm, that is all. Feel free to fulminate against my views.

so because I would rather do my own research in the real world and not some movie about a "macho"dude with aids in the 80s then that makes me thick and defensive haha. aye no bother mate.also because my taste in movies isn't the same as yours that means I'm into bareback and I'm all dangerous and stuff. this place has all sorts an never fails to crack me up .

???? It's not judging?

I'm merely saying after watching a movie Based on a true even it made me realise how horrific the disease is, Christ in the 80s everyone was petrified, however once it's out of the limelight its business as usual, I personally don't give a shit who or what you fuck, I just find some flippant and childish attitudes terrrifying, but what the hell? OK I got that wrong, but a lot has changed since the 80's. If nothing else who know what AIDS is and are more informed about stds. I personally will 'glove it to love' it and had to bollock a mate who was afraid to touch materials handled by a friend who was diagnosed HIV+ after being r* (attacked). Some consolation was that she was cleared 6 months later.

Sorry Ive had some great bateback dynamics, however, they were checked by both parties, in one case three.

At a club it is safer for everyone to use protection, however some dynamics become more than a quick shag and develop to a different level.

So please from your "film" perspective don't, and I say this from my perspective, try to project something that's not true to those who are careful and honest.

Mmm..interesting, so by raising awareness on a site like this, I'm the 'bad guy' if you look at the op I mentioned before taking a gamble as in a quick fuck. I never brought relationships into it and quite frankly again I'm amazed that you are referring to it as 'marketing'

No doubt I'll receive a time out some time soon, but I find it amazing and sickening that adults can't discuss it in a rational way, I don't see the reason for people to be so defensive and patronising

But out of curiosity which part of my projection was 'not' true?

To be fair. The majourity of people have a real lack of understanding when it comes to sexual education and genuinly believe their immune to the world.

However, i dont care what they do. Do unsafe shit if you like, i only meet safe 100% everytime. No matter what.

"Yeah because movies are always based on researched facts...

Bless, not seen it then obviously."

Bear in mind being a film based on a true story does not make it a documentary. According to America they cracked the Enigma project....

Some consolation was that she was cleared 6 months later."

Care to elaborate on somebody being diagnosed HIV+ then cleared 6 months later? That would be a world first!!

I do love being told how I should live my life.

I don't need the op or a movie to tell me about sexual health I had the thought to me at school.
