In awe of sluts

I wonder if any other guys can relate to this feeling...

I admire sluts. A lot. I'd go as far to say that i find prudish women uninteresting. I snigger at the idea of 72 virgins being a 'reward' for anything, my idea of heaven doesn't include that much bad sex.

I think a lot of my (potentially warped views) came from an ultra conservative upbringing. Sex was dirty, dangerous, definately confined to marriage. Women should not really enjoy sex per se, they should do it for their husbands. Women who had sex out of marriage were essentially having their innocence corrupted.

Unfortunately this had a number of unintended consequences for my understanding of women. Firstly, it made women seem incredibly weak if sex was essential an act of submission to a man. As i was growing up i witnessed a lot of girls in tears because they felt a guy had mislead them into having sex with the promise of a relationship after. Crying women are a big turn off. Secondly, i wanted sex a lot. But if i had to take 3 months to seduce a woman and jump through all these hoops, it transpired that by the time we fucked i had lost most respect for them. Essentially they had bought the bullshit i was selling.

At 15 i met the first real slut i got to know. She blew my mind. She always seemed so strong to me, nobody could damage her. Even if a guy had fucked her, it would eat at him that he couldn't have her twice unless she chose. She was always in control, even when she did a gangbang it was clear she was fucking them. You didn't need to bullshit her for a fuck, if she wanted to fuck you then she would. If she didn't then no ammount of nonsense would change that, she could see straight through men.

Childhood gives us our baseline assumptions about the world, yes we can update them in later life but even in my 30's i still can't shake the feeling that i love sluts.

If someone objects to it then for sure it is derogatory... but if they don't then it isn't. I have been asked by plenty of women to call them a "slut". It's just a form of words that they got off on and I suppose I did too to a degree... so let's be so churlish and ignore the context...

Re-read the OP again.

Great post! Some may not like the term used but it's subjective I think. I recon the girl didn't mind the term so it's use was justified. Some.people are touchy about labels and so choose to be offended by such. However the rhetoric of the story personifies her as the term.

Offence is always taken and never given!

"The term slut is derogatory, out dated and just plain rude.

"

To be fair to the OP, he does say he has potentially warped views.

That aside, I think the intended connotation is what's important. It's quite clear that it's not meant in the original derogatory definition of the word - in fact, I'd go so far as to type he's using slut in the reclaimed sense. A woman who is in charge, proud and comfortable with her sexuality.

And I think aside from the possible questionable lexicon, it's actually a great post to read. People often fail to realise what internalisation of various things can lead to later - the self awareness of the OP is only a good thing.

Agreed!

Stolen from urban dictionary. (A more accurate and relevant resource for a modern time)

"there can be 2 definitions: one negative, the other positive...

1. a girl who has sex but does not enjoy it, who is used by guys and lets them do it. She does not have the self respect to make them stop.

2. a girl who likes sex, so she does it. She probably is not in a relationship, and she equalizes herself to guys by treating sex the same way they do.

The difference between the two examples of what society labels as "sluts" is that one has self respect, the other does not.

Think you probably could have thought your title out slightly better to stop the backlash, but regards the story, couldn't agree more.

My other half doesn't like being naked, let alone anything else, and i'm made to feel like a pervert for wanting oral sex, both giving and recieving.

After some of my other partners i let go, i do really regret my choices. But it's too late for all that now.

Would love to hear more.

Pm me if you like, but i can't pm you've blocked tvs.

Oh gosh thank you! Totally nailed it.

The story is:

- boy has ultra conservative upbringing.

- ultra conservative adults call women who have sex out of wedlock 'sluts'

- boy witnesses that the stigma attached to sex has unintended consequences. The girls who grow up in the same ultra conservative culture end up ashamed, embarassed and unable to have healthy sex lives, even after marriage

- boy comes to reject the stigma and reclaim the word in a positive light

- boy is happy, albeit with person views that are 180 degrees away from what boy was taught in childhood

- this leads to internal conflict so boy trys to share story with people who might relate to it

I can't tell the story without the word slut because slut was meant to be offensive and derogatory in the ultra conservative context.

The law's position on offense / abuse is simple. The claimant or recipient is always right.

The "offender"'s intent does not come into play at all.

And since we are now a legal and democratic society, and in the interest of peace, I on behalf of all self confessed sluts and slut lovers, apologise to all who take exception to the use of the word, "slut".

What a nicely written thoughtful piece, OP. Lucky you to have met her and lucky her. I will say though that 15 was way young for an older woman to grab you and even though I love much younger men I stop at 18. But that's a separate isue

The term "slut" can be, like any other term, have seriously derogatory implications. I don't look at it that way. I'm a slut if you define a slut as a promiscuous woman who enjoys sex with multiple partners. Implied in that definition is the fact that she has full control and it's for her pleasure. Used in a different way it means a woman who sleeps around because she either has to or has low self esteem and has to use men to stabilize herself. That's definitely NOT me. At some point in time "slut" was also used for prostitutes. Nowadays loads of working girls are confident, do this for their own pleasure out of their own desire and I don't think theres' anything wrong with that if they choose to sell sex. I know many will disagree.

So glad you admire 'sluts' - they're loads of us out here!

When we first read the post we thought it was insightful.

However when we read it again we found that really it contained many sexist views.

First he assumes that the woman is a slut because she fucks different men but he also mentions he wanted sex a lot and had no thought that he may be just as sluttish as the women he exposed.

He also imagined that the women he had sex with did so because they fell for his bullshit rather than what was more accurate they had sex with him because they enjoyed having sex.

Though to be fair he did mention “I think a lot of my (potentially warped views) came from an ultra conservative upbringing.”

He does however suggest that the women he calls sluts are rather than being weak willed are powerful women who are in control of their lives and take their pleasure where and when they want.

Our verdict a complex piece of prose written with insightful comments but based on sexist views

On a part, you are right. However in this example there would need to be an admission of being a slut to be able to take offence!

For them to over hear, or in this case read the word on a screen, is not an offence by law. The OP merely said he met "a Slut" (we can neither prove or disprove if she was offended or not so can't pass comment) and sent his love to "all the sluts out there" therefore the girls that like to be known as sluts will appreciate the love but those that don't recognise them selves as "a slut" can not take offence as the comment was not directed or addressed to them. For them to take offence they must recognise that they are, in fact, part or all of the negative definition of the word.

Considering the fact that my name is on my profile, calling me by any other name as a term of endearment or as a way to familiarise yourself with me i find creepy regardless of whether it's slut or anything else.

Nothing sexist about my views at all. Someone has already posted the definition of a slut, look at the second definition. Referring to a widespread, societal double standard about men and women having multiple partners says nothing of my own views on the matter. She met the definition of the word i had been given. I will add then in an ultra conservative upbringing there are negative labels applied to 98% of the rest of the world to create a standard that only that community itself could live up to (and that even less would be happy in). The first time i came to london i was crapping myself because I'd been told everyone would be a nasty, knife carrying potential thief! Much better to stay in the village where the nice people live you know.

Broadly speaking I would say the definition of 'slut' is a sexually liberated woman who enjoys and feels no guilt in having multiple partners. I consider myself to be a slut. If I wasn't I wouldn't be here. It's been used historically as a derogatory word because what sluts, like myself, like to do is very wrong in the eyes of most people. I am not however a slag.

Very interesting post, OP.

I personally like the word slut because of its complexity. The negative connotations say about society as much as the reclamation claims say about the women taking it back for themselves. I find empowerment in my sexuality and reclaiming a word like 'slut' is part of that for me. I realize other women might not agree.

I grew up in a politically liberal household, but gender and sex roles were very much conservative. I was expected not to have sex until marriage (I had this actually said to me when I was young). My mother had a child out of wedlock and was a single mother for almost 10 years. It was always an example of what not to do. But at the same time, sex was never something that made me feel weak. I was always taught that I had power as a woman when it came to sex (and many other things as well, obviously).

Do I think this played a part in my own sexual journey? Yes, I'm sure it has. But I can't really say what part it's played. This post has sparked an interesting discussion between Marc and me, so I guess I'll leave my post here with no real contribution other than to thank you for the thought provoking post.

I'm the meantime, this slut is off to have more conversations about sex while packing for a "fab" trip to London.

I'm the meantime, this slut is off to have more conversations about sex while packing for a "fab" trip to London. "

I find that the people that remained in that community tend to either have a very low sex drive or a highly repressed ones. Various extended family members have confided in me that their sex lives are rubbish because they can't fully shake the feeling it's 'dirty' even though they are doing it with their husbands and remained virgins until marriage. Alternatively there's an proportionally increased rate of accidental pregnancies amongst the unmarried ones since these people took zero birth control precautions and gave into temptation a few times when emotions ran high. One girl in particular engaged soley in anal sex before marriage because the decided that kept her a virgin...

I think a lot about how to present some kind of middle road to our children. I think life is easier if you can be happy with monogamy so i don't necessarily hope they end up swingers, but i certainly don't want them traumatised by guilt and feeling ashamed of theor bodies and feelings.

"The term slut is derogatory, out dated and just plain rude.

"

The Idea that it's derogatory is outdated, and you're assumption that it bears any ill intent towards those he directs the word at is rude.

The definitiontion of the word states.

Slut

a woman who has many casual sexual partners

In no way is this derogatory it's merely a fact. If there is ill intent and venom behind a word, it's rude, if it's used in it's correct form, or even just reappropriated by those it once was used to demean, it's demonstrably fine.

That's your interpretation. Nowadays many women will own the term slut.

"I'm a sexually liberated woman, who enjoys uninhibited sex with multiple partners.

Does that mean I'm a slut?

No that means you're a slag "

IMO that is incredibly offensive.

Thank you. People are rarely "in awe of" things they consider negatively.

Im going to ignore the word slag. However, ive always been sexually strong. I have no idea where it stems from. Certainly nothing i read or saw as i was to young.

However, ive never seen sex as anything romantic. They have always been two seperate things for me. I remember the girls used to hold out for a boyfriend or if they shagged someone expected marriage after. I used to just get stuck in. If i wanted a shag i had one. If i wanted a gangbang i had one. Im not saying i dont feel anything emotional while im having sex but i dont connect love and sex.

It was odd growing up in my era being different. It was only as i got into my 20s that i realized there where other people that thought like me

At the risk of repeating myself, I'm going to repeat myself ().

I looked in to the meaning of slut for this post:

https://m.fabswingers.com/forum/swingers/650547

and came up with this:

"Apparently the oldest reference we have for the word slut is in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, where it's used to mean an untidy or unkempt man. Go figure .

Since then it's been through quite a lot of meanings, including an untidy or lazy anybody; the common (affectionate and not derogatory) slang term for a kitchen maid; female dogs; and candles made of rags and lard.

In more recent times (by which I mean the last century or so) the meaning seems to have settled on "a woman of loose morals", starting out non sexual but becoming more about sex later.

Today and to me the word slut basically means a woman who likes a lot of sex, probably with multiple men. I see that as a *good* thing."

There was a bit more but I think that's the relevant info.

And I'd agree that there's a bit of a reclamation of the word to be non derogatory. Interestingly, I think we're a lot further along in not demeaning the concept it represents than in disarming the word itself.

"I'm not a slut, I'm a swinger!"

Which is absolutely fine, and if you find being called a slut directly offends you, you're entitled to your opinion. But allow me to give this example.

At work, I occasionally refer to people as "Yoghurts". To me and my in the know colleagues, this is simply a new way to call someone a total fucking idiot. We all know what it means, and we avoid saying this directly to staff, because we don't mean it, we just ended up having to come and fix something due to their lack of understanding, care or attention.

As for slut, I call someone a slut if I find them sexy, sexually adventurous and empowered, confident, and if they happen to also enjoy sleeping with many different men, be that at once or just regularly.

I find women like this are "my kind of people". I have nothing but respect and admiration for their ability to be brave and not conform social norms.

I've also grown up in a place where the only word that accurately describes their attitude and behavior to be the word slut, as it's been reappropriated by some of the people who have all of these women.

I would never call anybody that I thought would mind a slut, but I call many people who've become a hindrance to my daily work a "yoghurt" with the intent on mocking them.

Question, which would you rather I called you?

I think it's a well thought out post and does actually look at how conservative values stigmatise women unfairly. Men who choose to sleep with many women are looked on as studs, yet women who CHOOSE to do the same are negatively viewed either by conservative or ignorant people (e.g. locker room "banter" ... Trump justification).

Also agree about the context ... Some women I have met enjoy name calling ... They don't want it in vanilla life but in the bedroom, it works for them. The one point I would make here is that the guys should find out if the lady enjoys it.

"I wonder if any other guys can relate to this feeling...

Have we met x

I think people who feel they have to go around reappropriating things are pretty irrelevant by the time you've come to the conclusion to reappropriate something it's not just arose in your pysche but in everyone's collective pysche.
