We're planning on a hotel meet with a guy in a few weeks and was wondering what people think is a fair way to share the costs. Also last time we did a hotel it felt "seedy" exchanging cash in the room.

As a couple, we book and pay for the room, we will be staying for the entire night but the guy won't be, seems only fair to us (they always offer to go halves).

For one-off meets I've always paid for the room, but for 'repeats' I've taken it in turns

Yeah I know what you mean op but honestly it's best to get that stuff put of the way first of all. Or if you trust and know them leave it till late. I had a fb for a year or so and we were close so we'd just take it turns or else pay into the others bank online. It's the boring bit whatever you do, enjoy what you're really there for

If it's our room and we're staying over and he's leaving, we wouldn't expect him to contribute to the room. But a polite man might buy the drinks or something like that.

Put the cash in an unsealed envelope on the dresser. As you say hello, tip your head towards it and wink repeatedly.

Then ask them if they're undercover cops.

Oh wait, this is about paying for a hotel room... My bad.

We would probably stay in the room because it's there rather than out of necessity.

Should it be a 3 way split or a 2 way split?

My only experience of who pays for what is with regards to drinks or meals, in which case it's alway been the men taking it in turns. So that's a 2 way split I guess.
