I work from home, the small back garden faces south and is a sun trap and I would like to sunbathe au naturel.

Trouble is, I would be visible from the other 3-storey town houses in the courtyard.

The only solution that occurs is a three or four sided fabric screen, which would need to be quite high to provide privacy.

Has anyone tried to construct something like this? All practical tips welcome.

Just post a disclaimer through everyone's letterbox warning them that it's their fault if they see you naked.

Simply put up a ladder in the night and paint out their windows. If you spend a little time making the scene realistic, they won't even notice.

Sorted.

PS Do this job clothed. Appearing on a ladder, naked, outside a neighbours window, is not acceptable, according to my jobsworth local PCSO.

Depending on the angles, a large garden umbrella positioned between you and the windows might work? So the sun can get to you but the neighbours vision is blocked. You could peg a sheet around one half to further block vision.

We used to do this with a fishing umbrella. Our previous neighbour was a woman who wouldn't have cared if she saw either of us naked but it shielded us from the other neighbours.

Have used a fishing brolly, sheets on the line and sometimes a gazebo, before.

Got a 3m tiltable parasol, now - makes a great shield, providing the wind isn't blowing too hard.

You'd think with a 6ft fence right around the garden, privacy shouldnt be an issue - but upstairs windows are a pain.
