I have seen the word curvy used to described people who are frankly huge.

I don't find that a very attractive look at all although I know I have used the same description to avoid being cruel.

Equally the word skinny can be open to a wide interpretation.

So that is the problem with this type of question as everyone answering has their own individual mental image of curvy or skinny people.

I agree but when you hear it enough times, it does eat away at you. I've had years of being told (usually by shorter guys with a chip on their shoulder) that I'm intimidating due to my height, it's made me very self conscious at times and I will do anything to avoid being noticed and having the standard "you're tall" conversation.

I agree with you completely. This type of 'what's best' thread makes me cringe. For the record, I'm a fat woman (no - not curvy - fat) but I think a slim, toned body is far more attractive (personal opinion). I wish I'd looked after my body more then perhaps it wouldn't be in the state it's now in.

Oh - and EVERY woman is a 'real woman' regardless of size or shape. If you have a vagina and have, at any point in your life, menstruated then you're a real woman - it's sod all to do with your dress size!

Go to any nightclub / pub and you'll see the preference is for thin / slim / toned women. The chubby girls tend to be left hanging onto the walls - until the beer goggles come out and blokes realise they need to grab whatever they can if they're going to empty their sacs that night.

Some men have a genuine preference for bigger woman but I genuinely believe that for many, it's a case of 'any port in a storm'.

God forbid that a bloke lets on that he's attracted to the fat girl in a group of slim ones. The point I'm making is that people (and I'm not singling out women - men suffer from this too) are emotionally crippled by society's expectations of how we 'should' look and how we 'should' act.
