The last 3 people ive spoke to on here have turned out to be gay guys with very good fake accounts but dont speak or send face pics etc

Ah right. Try and go for well verified accounts its not foolproof but it helps. Also if a "woman" contacts you and starts talking sex straight away its likely that "shes" a guy, again not foolproof.

I'll admit, there are quite a few and it's easy to get caught out. Try and avoid new accounts, non verified (at least picture verified) and if it looks/sounds too good to be true? It usually is etc etc.
