There are endless threads on here about barback with people holding very entrenched views on both sides of the debate, but something that is virtually never mentioned is the fact that condoms split.

Is there a lot of dishonesty about this situation within the community?

Happened to me on a meet once, few years back. Visited GUM next day to get checked. I was okay that time.

People don't seem to understand that the way a condom is put on can also lead to failures.

I.E. rolling a condom on with the lips/mouth

I think the issue is about your risk taking levels. I always swing with condom as I want to minimise the risks to myself. Yes I am aware they split on rare occasions. Though if it did split I'd be down the GUM within days.

That's my thoughts on it, basically I am sexaully risk adverse.

Not trolling you but most STDs wouldn't show in those tests until a week after exposure. Had the same problem and was horrified to wait another week and at the time the HIV tests took 3 months to pick up anything. It put me right off swinging for a while.

If you look at the pregnancy rate with condoms they're nowhere near as good as people think - hence why it's not safe sex - just lower risk

Saying that they're the only realistic game in town barrier wise

I don't think it's dishonesty i think its naivety. We vet the fuck out of people before we... er fuck them so when it's happened it's not a mad panic. But there is a large group of swingers who think it's fine to fuck mary jane rotton crotch as long as you use a condom. It's not since condoms don't stop all STD's anyway unless you are happy being mike james rotton dick.

If you need a quick result please ask for viral load/PCR. most clinics will oblige although with 4th generation tests now available you can get ag/aby result in 6 weeks.

Thanks, my incident was about 8 years ago now so not sure they had the tests back then.
