We are definitely not new to swinging and we love to play especially group fun. We haven't played that much mainly because both of us are extremely shy and socially awkward. Our main issue is being able to tell the difference between someone interested in us or just being nice. We have a lot of friends we made at the swing club we go to. But we are not sure if there is interest

If you can't pick up on body language you will need to ask outright if people are interested...provided you're interested on them of course.

You need to be more forward. When we are at a club and chatting to someone we like we just say we are off to a private room if you want to join us.

Just start getting off with each other in a play room and anyone who's interested in you will magically appear by your side. If you're not into them stop playing and try returning later. If you like them, carry on and start "accidentally" overlapping with them. If they don't like you they'll move away. If they do they'll start "accidentally" overlapping with you. That's how it's worked for my partner and I. Good luck xx

This kind of approach works well for us too. On the other hand, neither of us is shy

To the OP: if you can break through the social barrier that you're feeling and just ask, I think you'll find that a great many more people than you think will happily take you up on the offer.
