This isn't a rant by the way. Just a frustrated intellectual

By the time you have read someone's profile then thought of a not too dull message the persons you are messaging have gone offline! Resulting in them never actually getting to read your message. Even chatting to people on your friend list is so hard now.

I think there are far too many people on here these days sending pointless messages and clogging the airwaves for frustrated veterans like me.

Sorry to moan but aaaahhhhhhh!!!!!

Why would they never get to read your message just because they've gone offline?

They will most probably come back online again and read your message then?

In all fairness, just because they go offline doesn't mean they won't read your message. Although, you may have to wait as they wade through all the others.

I get where you are coming from, a couple of people on my friends list I struggle to get to see my messages as they get lost in the rabble. It's frustrating when you have already established that you are "friends" and still can't get your message read because of the volume the are receiving.

A separate inbox for friends messages would be nice.

That's my point, some people get so many messages that they get lost. Also fab delete your messages for you if you don't read them quick enough.

I totally agree that friend messages should be separate. Also there should be a way of limiting the sending of messages so that the pests get bored and f-off

Messages stay for a pretty long time. You seem to be blaming everyone else for your messages not being read rather than thinking it could be that your message hasn't sparked any interest. It is possible to read a message and then mark it unread remember

Just curious, but these people you know and see often. Why don't you use a different messaging app with them if your messages on here are missed? Kik or whatsapp for example?

Sending a message while we're showing as online doesn't mean a lot, a) because I think the way we use the app probably means we're always showing as online and b) because if I'm browsing the forums I tend to ignore messages and may not get to them until next time I visit. If your message header stands out don't see the problem, and if you're a friend presumably they recognise your avatar to pick you out of the morass.

Whenever I'm really good friends with people on here we agree to keep in touch and chat via email rather than the messaging system here, which can get easily clogged up.

Yes you are right to a certain extent. I do believe this site is spoilt somewhat by men looking for a free prostitute. However if it's any consolation, not all couples are inundated with messages. We only get half a dozen or so per week, so all will get read, and a well thought out message will be noticed and replied to. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that we are available to meet anyone new, but that would be the same situation even if all that crap were to disappear. Btw we don't read messages immediately. I go on line for the forums and check the updates, but my husband will read and process messages.

We find the solution to this is to chat on Whatsapp with those we know well.

I won't even open a message until the guy has gone offline. I choose to respond when I want to, not when they want me to. If I reply at all.

Like above, when I list my filters I rarely get messages, so nothing's getting buried. I just read them when I want to.

what if you're seen as a pest by some of the people you message?

why are others pests just because they're also messaging the people you wish to message?

what makes your message more important or relevant than theirs?

Some of them I do, but I see someone online I may still say hello.

Ok well as I am lead to believe lots of people (mostly women) get lots of abusive messages from guys (god knows why) and by pests I mean people who have no real intentions to actually meet anyone. The amount of fakes, prostitutes, and cam girls that seem to do the rounds these days do hack me off.

There are still good people here that is why I stay. Also like to see what's going on with club events and the like.

Anyway people I just fancied a moan that's all
