(or perverted) but why don’t more friends shag each other/together in everyday life?

I know for me the more I get on with someone and the more I like them the more I would like to shag them. Its like a warm I feel as I get to like them as a person. I makes me want have deeper levels of intimacy with them. Not out of lust or sexual fulfilment per se or romantic pursuit, more just out of a desire to get closer to them and break down the barriers (if any of that makes sense). Just to share something with them that makes everyone feel good. So why do we as a society put sex on this pedestal for that of lovers or slags? Why don’t more people enjoy it a fun way of bonding and showing affection between friends? Would the world be a better place if we all shagged each other as an extension of our friendships and bonds?

Am I the only one who sees the world like this or am I as daft as a brush?

Because some people find it possible to be friends with people they're not sexually attracted to

I see where you are coming from...and on a few occasions have gone down this route.

But on balance...I'd go for "daft as a brush"

I agree OP!

I think sex is put on a pedastal and people over think it.

I would love to be able to share sexual feelings with my friends - male and female.

I would hope it woukd make us closer.

But the vanilla folk are all weird about sharing

I became such good friends with a FB, we stopped having sex. It just didn't feel right anymore.

Definitely do not want to fuck our friends. Just wouldn't feel right and really good friends are hard to find ...would hate to loose them!

Loving the hippy vibe op Wouldn't it be lovely if sex was a natural continuation of a friendship where there was attraction and too much wasn't made of it

Our cultural values were formed before the invention of condoms in a world where sex = babies. Few things change slower than culture.

"slags? what you mean by that? "

To clarify an expression of the rather conservative opinion of sex outside of monogamous relationship.

Why do we put things into boxes and set ridged boundaries? Why cant sex and/or other forms of intimacy be used in a wider spectrum of friendships/relationships? I think their is opportunity to be so much more human and open around each other. Even the act of sharing a hot tub naked really breaks down barriers and puts people on a more level playing field.

What fascinates me is that is that there are those in the scene who have and look for friendships in the scene and play together within in their friendship groups. And those who are sort of looking for human sex toys not connection. Personally for me sex is an extension mental connection and care for another person.

Not everyone sees friendship in sexual terms. I think its dangerous to try and make everyone behave similarly around sex. We are I hope at the start of a period of western society beginning to allow people to be open about how they express their sexuality. So if you want to be sexual with your friends, great, go ahead. If I don't that's good too. I think we all need to understand that what works for one doesn't for another and not try to dissect it too much.
