You wouldn't know that you're blocked if you didn't try to visit a profile again. Which is why I don't get people who say things like, "haha I've been blocked just because I turned someone down/didn't find them attractive etc."

Well why the hell are you visiting their profile again??

If someone told me they aren't interested in me, delete my message, or ignore it, I would definitely block their profile as a reminder to myself that this person isn't interested.

And when I reject someone I don't revisit their profile and if I did by mistake, I would understand why my profile has been blocked.

I find it amusing when I come across someone who has blocked me despite us having had no interaction. What's that about?

Happens to me often. I can only assume one of a few things (a) they've seen me on the forums and think I'm a twat, (b) I'm not what they're looking for so it's just a proactive block so neither I message them or they message me, (c) they know me, (d) people are strange!

I'm expecting it's usually (d)

No the most recent one I discovered was an older guy in the forums from hundreds of miles away!

I don't think ive ever blocked anyone without them personally making me do it. I agree with (d)!

It probably just means they've looked and either they want different things from you, or they simply didn't find you attractive (mad fools!). That's why I regularly block people; it saves everyone's time.

Your reputation preceeds you from 100's of miles away! What's your formula? I reckon it had something to do with the painful heartaches each time he looked at your profile and yearned to lessen the distance!

Maybe during a rant you said something derogortary about old men from miles away perving at your pics.

That would do it..especially if he was due to visit your city and thought he would send a message to you in the future.

I block people I've had no interaction with.

It's a tool for me to use how I see fit.

Indeed! Thing is, they're probably too self-absorbed to realise that they've probably been blocked because they simply aren't memorable enough to avoid contacting again by mistake.

Just off the top of my head I would block in these circumstances if I see

In their profile, no bi guys or no black guys. Or occasionally I will block forumites if I think they're a twunt after saying something

Sometimes I block people because I don't want to accidentally meet them. Like if I see them leaving bareback refs for someone or something I might take the time to click on their profile and block them.

That's so you can't look at their profile and find flaws and judge them, when they comment on others on the forums.

You can't keep track of them if you block them. If you come across them in a club or party, you won't know it's them.

visiting the beach

I think, as has been said above, I block (and am probably blocked) when I see something in the forums that makes me confident I would not want to spend time with a person.

The reason being, this is not always obvious from a profile. So to avoid any chance I block, even if they are a long way away, I travel for work quite a bit and you never know.

I wouldn't know it was them in a club anyway because the clubs I go to don't allow phones.

In the near future it will be like the Black Mirror episode "White Christmas". You and the person you've blocked will just appear as a white silhouette to each other with muffled audio.

I agree

If I mail someone and they delete the mesage I block them

Its not a bad thing....

It just stops me messaging them again, cos I know they arent interested

No skin of my nose what they think x
