Meeting someone with psoriasis

Was wondering what some of your views are in regards to meeting someone with psoriasis (massive irritation of the skin which causes nasty looking bump like patches but non infectious) as I've recently been brought out in it.

Personally I acknowledge its a bit of an eyesore however I also know it's harmless to other people.

I went on a meet with a man who announced it in the bedroom, it was a bit off putting as it spoiled the moment, mind you the fact he was wearing a vest with sweaty armpits was much worse.. It's best to mention it when chatting.

its just like eczema but a bit worse know a few ppl with it

It wouldn't put me off if I was really interested in the guy. I have it very mildly and have family members who have had it quite badly.

It would be something I would want to know about beforehand while chatting though.

As said above mention it in a chat before you meet and I'd say most will understand and have no issue

exactly that , it mainly appears on the scalp knees elbows, but can appear almost anywhere and can get really bad for some,

it is a body clock malfunction where your skin trys to shed old cells for new before they are ready causing lumpy rashes so its completely non contagious,

I suffered for many years with the odd patches, then I woke up and was completely covered head to toe,it lasted for 3 weeks then went completely and ten years on and ive had nothing since

It wouldn't bother me, i have a family member who has it very badly and seeing the looks and comments he gets from the general public is shocking.

I have it and no one has ever bothered about it.

Try hemp oil works for me

It wouldn't bother me and don't see the need for mentioning it before a meet, it isn't contagious or an infectious nasty disease. We all have imperfections. If it puts someone off then they are shallow and not worth your time of day.

I (female half) have Psoriasis. (The raindrop kind) I've had it mildly and also had it where it's been horrendously bad. I've had a few bouts of uvb treatment and last year I had photochemotherepy with uva. Luckily that took it almost all away and I control it myself so occasionally get a few tiny little bits which I get on to treating straight away and luckily so far I've not had a flare up since before the uva. If you haven't already heard of Dermaspray maybe give that a check can be purchased from boots and much kinder to skin than a tonne of steroids. Also Sorion can be purchased online but currently not in the uk might help.

Finding a good dermatologist will help I requested to change mine at my local hospital and hit lucky with my new one.

I personally would mention it before a meet. If you have a patch on the elbow or something minor maybe not but if there are actually noticeable bits all over I would just to avoid any awkwardness.

I've found people to be rude at times when my skin has been bad(not sexually just out and about) but I find I always worry and feel self conscious more than I have to. I just tell people I have a skin condition it's not contagious. My husband has always been amazing with me and my skin and if we were to ever meet with anyone off here I would let the person know beforehand though to be completely honest If my skin was bad I wouldn't look to meet until it was under control but that's just a personal preference.

I've got it on the back of my head very badly but can't really see it as the hair covers it it's only when I cut my hair very short it's noticeable but I've had no issues with others.

Thanks for the responses all.

Not saying I'm actively looking though would like to look at a few options. Last person I was seeing was fine with it till we ended badly and she went from understanding to telling me to "keep my scabies to myself". Was more trying to get a rough idea of people's views on it. All of your responses have been helpful do thank you again.

Mmmm..... a bit of a generalised opinion .

If it puts someone off , it doesn't mean they are shallow at all . It means they have a preference not to meet someone who has psoriasis . Just like some don't wish to meet larger people , skinny people , ginger haired people , and so on .

We would like to know beforehand , and then make a decision . Swinging meets are a very visual thing for us , and if it was a very bad outbreak we would probably say no . Hopefully that doesn't make us shallow and not worth your time of day !

Anyone one here that does have it, try a product called Skincap, it's only available in herbalist and not chemist. I only used it once, it cleared the problem up, never to return and that was 30 years ago.
