How annoying is it when you arrange a meet ... book and pay for a hotel and 2 hours before you are meeting they cancel ... 2 hours !!

No longer do hotel meets for that very reason now...cost me a few times for the very same reasons. It's quite annoying when you put all the effort in but worse when you've footed the bill as well.

Sorry to hear this but I seem to hear it more frequently on forums now too.

It is a pain but at least they let you know. We make sure any meets or hotel bookings are planned for places we could go and enjoy anyway so it's never a great loss if things go belly up.

We've had that when we were looking for a second guy ,we said to him we don't have much time so we'd appreciate not being messed about and if there was a chance you can't make it then say. Yeah it sucks when that happens. Luckily not happened to us without good reason and notice. Alas sometimes life gets in the way. Worst for us was wife's knee dislocated whilst she was coming down the stairs as the taxi pulled up to take us to a meet! She has a degenerative issue with it so happens every few months, we just don't know when and where.

But I hope they he blokengad a good reason as your pics have always caught my eye and he would be daft to pass you up

We didn't go ... child free weekend but never meet at home ... just bit the bullet , lost the money and are chilling in our own bed

Tell you something tho ... Mr inked is getting everything that our meet isn't hahaha

I had a couple cancel 15 min before we were to meet. They had confirmed by phone and text that day. Said the wife's mother passed away.

The next day they had a new verification from someone else. They had communicated with me for months.

At least if you've gone to all that trouble they could show up even for a short time.

So sorry to hear this. I hope you had a great time anyway regardless. Hotels are a great way to relax and chill out away from normal life and stresses.

There are a host of reasons, perfectly reasonable, a PP gave an example of his partner seriously injuring herself. We're parents and if our kid hurt themselves I know who would come first. We had a meet cancelled an hour before as they had a migraine. In an ideal world it would all be plain sailing but some things are unforeseeable.

I totally agree that unforeseen circumstances come into play ... I'm a mum of 3 and they get up to all sorts that can change plans ... I don't want to go into the excuse given but definately was a far fetched reason that didn't ring true and if it was true could have actually let us know way earlier

A couple of weeks ago I was actually stood up by a couple! I booked a "meeting" at work then traveled over an hour to meet this couple for them to tell me they had to go out. I always thought that it was the guys who were morons on here(

You haven't mentioned why, and yes, can imagine there area plenty of crap excuses trotted out but think it's facile for someone to say they'd never cancel a meet.

I'm way too old and you're way too far away but if I had arranged to meet you both it would take something seriously seriously serious to stop it happening- you're both gorgeous!!

Sometimes you can excuse someone for a no- show, other times it's unforgivable-I very rarely meet but if I say I will for definite then I make sure I show up !!

I had to cancel a number of meets over the last week due to sore throat.

It's terrible having to let people down when you genuinely want to meet the person you've arranged to. All these wally's that bail at a moments notice give the rest of us a tricky time when genuine things get in the way. I find it's best to be honest about the problem, if the person you're meeting is a friend, then they'll be cool with it generally, let down yes, but they'll know you're not a timewasting knob lol.

I always try to rearrange quickly so the person on the other end doesn't feel I'm not interested, as I am.

It's tricky OP when costs for things get involved and as someone else said in the thread, it's a reason I don't do hotel meets, if you pay and they are a no show, you're left out of pocket, if you fail to show then you've wasted someone else's money. Steer clear of the hotel meet is my advice, unless it's with someone you know well and trust.

Wow, surprising to be let down after a social meet. I would have thought there would be more a connection that would mean people would be less willing to flake out than if they'd never met.

I know exactly what you mean arrange to meet somebody today sent me text after text because they've been let down turned up after driving 35 miles only to get a text to say I can't come totally downtrodden 35 mile journey back home
