Idiotic excuses for no shows

Hull but travel regularly

Apparently an hour before the time agreed, my meet was in bed, of course yes that's where you'd wait for a meet...

...and then he 'accidentally' fell asleep

No wonder most guys are getting a meh from me when even well verified guys with good profiles who arrange meets do this.

I'm sure you all have some corkers to beat mine

Just to point out - We weren't meeting at his, otherwise waiting in bed might be a very good idea

Had them all. From Grandma had a heart attack to the cat was ill.

More often though they simply don't bother to turn up. No apologies. No explanation.

It was only the day after though. Doesn't excuse leaving me waiting for the meet the night before. Idiot - next!

After exchanging both face pics (straight away) and messages on kik and here for 3 weeks, I arranged a cuck related scenario at a hotel with a couple on here...it was a fantasy for them and they were ready to see the plunge...

An hour or so before, I got a message saying that "after re reading my profile" I may be a bit too hardcore for them and that they they want a guy who is new to swinging?

I didnt even bother replying..

"Was on my way to meet you, had a slight accident and the guys in the other car got out and stabbed me. Turned out to be very serious, I was in the hospital for months as it got infected and wuoldn't heal."

He did show me the scar on cam half a year later---pink and right at spleen level.

And no, never arranged another meet.

I've had them all from

"My landlord needs an urgent meeting with me and he just called to say he will be here in 30 mins"

"My cat has gone missing and I need to find her, can we rearrange?"

"My cat just died"

"I just found my cat dead outside"

(I seem to choose men who have cat issues )

"My nan has just popped round for a brew"

"I've cracked my tooth and need to go to the emergency dentist"

"I've locked myself out of my house"

"My horse has an infection and I need to sort it with the vet"

Yes I've been on here almost 5 years as a single woman now... I've heard every excuse to cancle going. The worst is when they just stop texting or don't turn up though. Which is why I pretty much have stopped meeting through the site and just tend to now go to clubs and events now

SL xx

Reading these makes me realise I've been very lucky so far. Had no cancelled meets or no shows yet but it's bound to happen one day

Had so many excuses it's laughable. But yes you're right the least respectful is the ghosting. I lose all respect for a guy who thinks this is ok.

We had a social meet with one woman all went well and we wanted to arrange a play meet. Stayed in contact on kik swapped a few pics/vids flirty messages etc. Eventually got round to arranging a play meet and an hour before she was due round at ours she left the group conversation on kik and blocked us both! No explanation or anything!

My best one on my old single profile was from a man, claming he had a change of plans and was having his children that day.

Fair enough i got that, however didnt get the new verification he then displayed the next day!.

Just be honest if you get a better offer

Cancelled on twice by the same lass, though at least it wasn't a no show!

First she wasn't well....fair enough.

Then her cat was run over.....followed by radio silence n a status thanking the guy she did meet for a wonderful time!

It's fine by me,she obviously just changed her mind....which I've done myself a couple of times!

Though I've never arranged a meet n repeatedly cancelled,I've had correspondence with a couple of lasses in which meeting up for a drink in the near future was mentioned n I've just changed my mind n not followed up the convo.

The only person that can waste my time here is myself!

Cats seem to have a lot to answer for in the swinging world!

That's why on our now rare meets we always do them at a club, so if they don't show we can still have fun xx

We've had a few long chats, plans made for a meet, just the date to tie up & they either go quiet or just say they'll get back to us.

Only actual no show was a third meet at their request which they then no showed for, no contact prior or since.

We just let contact slide as we don't meet that often & would rather have meets than conversations about meets.

A list of pleasant veris still doesn't guarantee they're not just simply an idiot...

one guy change time to an hour later right as he was due to meet me as he had gone to visit friends in another town this was OK as I was running late anyway but then when the time came round again he said he had nipped in to visit his mum! He definitely wasn't the sharpest tool in the box, I had approx 30 phone calls and same in texts before penny dropped I was no longer interested in meeting him!! Can't fix stupid...

"Need to replace a dead budgie" - 30 minutes before the meet

"Got called into work" - whilst we were en route

"auntie passed away" - whilst we were waiting in a hotel. We decided to stay anyway and early hours of the morning he displays a verification from someone he met in a club that evening

Urgh the worst one I had was...

I had been chatting to a guy for a few months on and off via here and texts before I moved back to the UK. We had spoke on the phone a couple times etc and agreed to meet up. He had veries and seemed very genuine anx interested.

The day arrives. We were texting back and forth and even spoke on the phone before i left to go meet him. He had booked the hotel and I booked the restaurant. Fast forward to me sitting in the restaurant waiting for him... for a no show

Was so embarrassed. He didn't answer my calls so I reported and blocked him as a time waster.

6 weeks later I got a text "I've only just got out of hospital"

Are you kidding me?!?!?! It's a wonder I don't give up on here... but I meet lots of lovely men and couples too so it's not all bad. Just gotta take the rough with the smooth I guess...

- Meet in a club...no show! He ended up going to another club with someone else...even displayed veri

- Meet in a club. He had docs appointment where docs was 10 mins away from club. Messaged me 15 min, just getting prescription. No show ended, he had to drive 45 mins away to get his prescription!!?

So many timewasters even if they have been veried!!

I arranged to meet a couple. Had been exchanging messages and pics. All seemed ok. I arrived at agreed meeting place. No show.

I then got a message from the female saying her husband was on the other side of town and was not doing as he was told!!

They disappeared from fab not long after that.

Lesson learnt from that was to be cautious of profiles with no verifications.

"I've just been involved in a car accident"

"I've just walked out of my job and not in the mood to meet"

"Sorry I lost my phone."

I wonder if the same people use the same excuses, and someone will recognise them here!

a quandary, could you change my mind?

"My car battery blew up"

No it really did. Thankfully still made it to the meet

Thankfully I've no excuses given to me that I can share as all have shown up.

Maybe speaking too soon, but never had a no show (we don't accomodate so that helps) and we've never failed to show for a meet! think it's easier if you are a couple meeting a couple sometimes one of us has doubts or nerves but we have each other to talk to, singles however don't have that luxury, if they have doubts or get nervous they've no one to talk to and then bottle out.
