I've just had my first offended message for a long time

It actually cover this in my profile which is long but cuts out a lot of messages I don't want.

I find it bizarre that people get offended on a site like this. It's like anything. You choose who you wish to spend time with.

I've had people not reply, cancel for a better meet and other things so the "how would you feel" question well I don't care.

I don't care about the people who don't reply, or pass me by. I don't know them.

What are your thoughts?

There is a proportion of members here trying to get over their low self esteem and they can't handle rejection, this applies to men and women in my experience too.

Either that or they're just dicks lol

I deleted one earlier in the week to get a can u not read and ur a dumb blonde just made me chuckle because if he had read my profile he would have known I just delete.

Offense seem easily caused round here it's unintended from myself so I can live with it.

There seems to be an equal amounts of offended people and sanctimonious people on these forums. Both are clear indications of low self esteem. I've had abusive messages wishing me dead in a car crash I've been called awful names and threatened. I try to feel sorry for them, they're clearly the ones with mental problems xx

Because I didn't reply.

But in my profile it states do not be offended if I don't reply. We all have a type and there's no polite way to decline.

That's a considered comment included cause I've had offense at declining offers for being full of myself. So I tread carefully to avoid nonsense.

Do you think that telling people in your profile 'not to be offended' is going to have any sort of pull or sway over them? It's like commanding the sea to retreat.

I'm sure not having a thought out message not replied to,can be disappointing,but ultimately they can't take offence.

You've never met before and despite recurring threads on the forums over the years, it's generally accepted that no reply means no thanks.

You can't ever control how other people react to you. You can conduct yourself in a way which may influence them, but in this scenario all you can do is walk away from it.

I don't tell people what should and shouldn't offend them. It's not bizarre for people to be offended by things on here, there's quite a lot of stuff that can be construed as offensive, in my opinion only.

Luckily, I'm not easily offended, but I can understand how other people are.

If you have a long profile, the important stuff could go at the beginning.

They sent pics I didn't reply they got offended.

We don't pay any attention to messages we send and don't get a reply to. There's just no point. If they're not interested then it's pointless nagging them

It seems to have been quite bad this week, I've had 2 guys message and because I said no thanks (better worded) or didn't reply quickly enough I got called names and blocked. Sad thing for one guy I actually found him attractive and was going to reply

My thoughts are that the only person you should aim to please is yourself. You should not try and make other people unhappy about themselfs, and likewise they should not try to make you unhappy about yourself. And we have to respect each other like not being offended if another person does not like us.

I don't understand why people get so easily offended. Why let it bother you what a stranger on an internet site does/doesn't do, says/doesn't say.

I also agree with an earlier post that a lot of people are on here with low self esteem and confidence issues. I don't think this is the place to be, it won't necessarily help with those issues. Self esteem and confidence should come from within yourself and people close to you, not strangers. That's just my opinion of course.

I think some people think it's a x-rated dating site or in some cases they feel just because they've messaged you they WILL get some action.

When things Don't go their way they get offended, hurt, aggressive and troll.

Kind of sad really for them.

I honestly couldn't care less, why waste time or energy getting upset or pissed off by them.
