And why does everyone hate them on here? People assume there ruff and will feel horrible but say they like stubble? Makes no sense to me, mines always soft and gives an extra sensation I thought it would be loved lol how wrong I was

Been working on mine for the past month or two and I'll be damnned if I shave it off for the sake of a meet.

Too much patience and time spent on it, and to shave it off means it was all for nothing.

Why does everyone generalise about everyone?

Exactly. OP, you'll find that for everyone who doesn't like your beard, there's many more who do

When I had long hair and a long beard I found I had more luck then when clean shaved, just read profiles and see if someone specifically says their feelings on beards either way. I think it is a split

Having a goatee, whilst not strictly a beard, i get what you mean op. I think the issue though lies in that a lot of huge beards look like they could house a family of squirrels and a hedgehog in them. If a beard is kept in check then i think its great.

My face is much more abrasive without a beard, even straight after shaving it's like sandpaper, my beard is soft.

I think beards are a bit marmite to women, the reactions are either love or hate, but it's better to be marmite than vanilla.

I find most women I've encountered here love beards. Or at least they just love people who look good in them.

My theory is that pogonophobia (extreme dislike of beards) is the combined influence of;

1.) 3rd wave feminism (never to be confused with women's rights and gender equality which I fully support) which demonises anything a man can possibly have that a woman can't (read penis, balls, beard etc.)

2.) Some men who don't/can't grow beards (for reasons ranging from genetics to having their balls seized by the opinions of women they want to fuck) throwing hate and shade.

3.) Corporations that have invested in razors and shaving creams etc. rather than beard care products perpetuating the myth that beards are "unhygienic" and other nonsense of similar import which provides the fodder for the first two groups.

4.) This is all of course limited to the underlying assumption that the tastes of many of us men and women are dictated by what the culture says is attractive and not. This includes some of us who grow beards too of course. That means that a lot of people dislike beards because they are told to.

5.) And then of course there are women who simply do not like beards..

6.) Studies were conducted by The University of New South Wales researchers on women who rated attractiveness by facial hair. The Australian researchers said women may be put off by beards as they perceive that the wearer looks more aggressive. Both sexes agreed that the hairier a man was, the more masculine he appeared.

(Please don't start the debate about some men without beards looking more masculine than some men with beards. What this is saying is that a man, any man, will look more masculine if he grows a beard than if he doesn't. It's not saying that he will look more masculine than ANOTHER man.)

The studies also concluded that women may be wary of ultra-masculine men because they are perceived to have ‘lower romantic attachment’.

The study also showed that women rate men with full beards as having the best parenting potential.

I'd shave if a partner absolutely demanded it but Slut prefers me with stubble. She says I look 'too young' when clean shaven!

I have had a beard of one type or anouther most of my life. Red with a wee bit of gray now. Currently a square Goatee.

I went clean shaven for a few years not long ago. Made me look a bit younger but I am also bald and somehow a beard on me looks better on my 0 cut head.

Not found anyone objecting to my beard really but the tidy and soft comments seam true to me. Stubble does scratch and thats not great. Have shaved clean my Cock and balls ever since taking up Motorcycles. Far less sweety in bike Leathers. Found most people like clean down bellow. But a beard on top is never been a block to me.
