If you have bareback sex then you have bareback sex end of - it carries a greater risk of std transmission than using a condom (which in itself isn't safe just less risky) - if anyone chooses to have bareback or any form of sex they accept the risk of stds end of there's no unsuspecting about it

Both points of view are actually incorrect.

If you bareback with a person who is not infected with a STI or if you bareback with one thousand people who do not have a STI there is no risk of catching a STI.

In a similar manner if you bareback with one person who has a STI you have a risk of catching that STI.

If you have sex using a condom with one person who has a STI you increase the risk of catching the STI but the increase of risk is not as high as it would be if you did not wear a condom as some protection is afforded..

The exposure to the risk is also determined by the type of STI and the type of sex indulged in, condoms only protect the area they cover.

The risk of eating a single steak is low, as I suspect you already know, so trying to set that up against anything is a pointless argument

The argument I was making is that humans in our society choose to take risks that have a strong evidence base will increase their chance of death - whether that's smoking, drinking, being overweight, attending bareback gangbangs whatever - it's very common and therefore I don't go wow when people choose to take risks no

I personally don't do any of the ones above but don't lose any sleep over people that do

I'll explain it again - human beings take risks with their lives - hence my initial post that I wasn't surprised or 'wow' - nothing you have posted whether it's your steak argument or sword argument has suggested anything otherwise

Of course some risks can be immediate - e.g. some drugs can produce an instant fatal response, a single bareback gangbang could produce a HIV infection - other risks are cumulative - e.g. We know lung cancer risk is higher with incremental smoking history

No one has ever argued all risks are of the same proportion or occur over identical timescales - you're arguing with yourself in an empty room over straw man arguments and really not helping yourself
