What grabs peoples attention from an opening message to someone ?

I read profiles and sometimes put off messaging people as so many dos and don'ts.

Always feel a polite opener introduction name age town etc.

I actually don't see the point of that as that information is already on your profile, same as when someone describes what they look like that's what the photo is for.
