Sending the Signal

Just posted on another thread, but I wondered if other couples had a 'signal' they used or shared to indicate they were wanting something to 'happen' on a social meet?

We had a male friend who we enjoyed many 3sums with, but often when he visited, it was just chat and coffee. The 'signal' from Velma that she wanted more was to wear her stockings when he visited.

Just wondered if this is common amongst couples?

Signal to each other or the person or people we meet?

We don't play at socials so we don't need a signal. On a play meet if we need to say something we decided long ago just to halt things and ask for a short time alone to say what we needed to say.

nothing too specific - just wondering if couples had any unspoken 'signals' they use amongst themselves...

I don't think signals always work because we had said to each other that we would have a code word we could say if one of us wasn't happy and wanted out....well I had said the code word by accident and Andy didn't Pick up on it any way so now if one of us isn't happy we are polite but to the point ... best policy now we find !

I agree, we learned that the hard way early on. It really is easier in the long run to just say it.

we can just tell by looking at each other now - eyes and scowling expressions say a lot

Ordering a half or a soft drink instead of a pint etc is usually a good sign That people I know arnt interested in the other people when meeting up on a social especially if they dont have to drive..
