but how many posts do you respond to just because it's a, well, not that intelligent question to begin with?

Hmmm, depends on my mood. Sometimes I see a silly thread topic and just ignore it for that reason. Then I may see a thought provoking topic and join in. Generally I light hearted and go with the flow but sometimes I'm tired and grumpy and see some stupid comments or a deliberate "oh look at me" thread and way in with something contrary because that's the mood I'm in.

I was thinking today that I should start a thread for myself for when I'm in the grumpy mood so I could post my thoughts on there and no one would get upset
