Why say straight?

Jump to newest

I am bisexual... which, simply put, means I like both cock and pussy.

Why am I constantly bombarded with guys wanting to play when it clearly says they are straight on their profile?

I can understand that out in the world, you don't necessarily want people identifying you or your sexuality. However, this is a site meant for generating sexual hookups?

If you're curious, say bicurious....

Any clue why they do this?

I get messages from 'straight' guys too. I would never make the first move when it says straight on the profile as I wouldn't want to offend anyone. When this question has come up before it's been suggested that if they put bicurious or bisexual on their profile it makes them less attractive to others on here. I have met a few guys who have claimed to be straight, but going by what we've got up to there is no way that they are straight. However, if that's how they wish to describe themselves then it's up them.

Because there are a lot of couples and fems on here that won't meet bi men. Therefore maintaining they are straight increases their chances, potentially.

Maybe they think it might put some women off. They want to still sound appealing to the women they want to meet too.

I personally would prefer to meet a straight man rather than bi/bi curious. So maybe other women are the same.

I just find it strange... are they lying to themselves or hoping to deceive others?

OP I totally get where you're coming from! I have men messaging me saying they are 100% straight but have played with a guy on occasions when they have met a couple??! Wtf? They clearly are not 100% straight then lol... Confused . Com

I understand your preference.... Which is why I'd prefer to be honest. If it puts some women off, then it's a shame, but I'd rather they knew the truth.

Perhaps you should be able to send a copy of said mail to admin who then after checking change the senders status to bi-curious & lock it down

There are men on here who will play with a guy to get to the woman. I find that sad if they are not bi

I'm looking for bi men and if they message me and they have straight on their profile it's a great filter for me. The number of times they say ohh but I'm bi here's a pic of me sucking cock is hilarious. I seriously question whether anyone puts what they actually are on their profile on here.

It happens the other way too though. You have straight on your profile and get messaged by bi men.

Not only that, you make a definitive statement saying not interested in men because you are straight and they still wink and message.

Set your filters to not receive messages from men. Problem solved.

Now if only there was a filter for lying twats who are trying their look then the site would be perfect.

I've spoken a couple of times to one of the guys I meet regularly and he's reluctant to admit he's bi - I don't know why it seems quite fashionable to me lol

OP, I understand what your talking about so here's my two pence worth.

Even though this is a site for sexual meets, we're still dealing with people. Unfortunately, many remain judgemental of other people's choices, "preference" and it's difficult for many to display what they're really like as they fear being judged. When you recieve messages from what seems to be straight guys, they're placing trust in you that you won't judge them for who they really are.

Many would disagree with what I'm saying but read some of the forum posts and you'll see a similarity to the other digital social media channels.

I would never wink or send messages to a guy within 'straight' on his profile. However, I've noticed that straight guys look at my profile and yet I'm denied a look at theirs.

Well it's relatively sheltered on Fab but it's still a tough old world out there and legislation against prejudice of all kinds doesn't stop it from happening - I respect everyone's boundaries and their need to protect their feelings and privacy

Several reasons for this. The stigma attached to men (and it's only men) being bisexual, as has been mentioned before it significantly reduces your potential pool of partners. So some lie. Same as those who lie about really being bisexual when they quite fancy meeting a couple who only want Bi men.

The problem is that only the person who created the profile knows what sexuality they are. Not the person reading it. You can have an opinion about it, but that doesn't make it so.

For example; a guy who gets aroused by TS or TV but regular guys do nothing for him, may well say he's straight. Ditto for a guy who, in the heat of a group situation, doesn't mind a bit of light bi play but wouldn't seek out guy on guy meetings specifically.

The fab categories are just too restrictive for starters. And people need to stop imposing their opinion on what others should change their sexuality to.

Themselves I think

We just need a 'fab straight' option in the drop down as a catch-all!

99% of the men messaging us are straight on their profiles. They mostly claim it's so that single women aren't put off.

Does it really matter? It's up to the individual how they wish to class themselves.

Well it's all interesting stuff folks, and I agree that we can all classify ourselves as we like.... I suppose the best way would be to remove sexuality completely, and just speak to people as individuals. Although then there'd be a lot of people wandering round even more confused.

Maybe I need to rethink things....

So the fact is, people are so used to lying about who they are in real life, they will always lie on here.

If I work on the basis that everyone is talking bollocks, and just judge them on how interesting the lie is.

& most of the time those same judgemental women will have bi or bi-curious on their profiles.

So much inequality in this area it stinks tbh.

I knew a few straight men that met bi men because they couldn't get meets from female and after all "getting sucked off by a man is no different than from a female". Their words
