I've seen a number of posters looking for a professional couple etc, or declaring themselves as such.

What does that mean? All scrubbed up and will bring a vintage wine or can have a chat about shares before stripping off??

To me professional is more a reflection on persona than actual job. I dont really care what someone does for a job but I do care whether they can hold down a decent conversation. I assume that when people say proffesional they mean intelligent and articulate/

Is anyone else thinking - I don't care what the op does - they're gorgeous???

I can just imagine meeting..."yes well the kitten culling trade isn't what it used to be, but at least we're having fun"

Us : "another drink?"

Seriously though, we just have a preference not to say, 1) because it's boring and 2) because we're not supposed to.

Like already said, who cares anyway? Unless what they do could negatively affect the meet, which maybe what they are hinting at.

I think its just taking an interest in the other person and maybe saying something about who you are. Not sure I would turn down many cos of their professions.... youre not a traffic warden I hope though! lol

Well, we have been turned down by several couples when they find out what one of us does for a living - not far enough up the social ladder apparently and wouldnt fit in with their friends / social circle!

Though on occasions telling folk your a Gynecologist does illicit some fun responses (and no neither of us are!)

To be fair to them.. that's their choice and should be respected.

However, for everyone a good timely reminder in these harsh economic times.. From a highly paid banker to a rubbish collector you can go........ as quickly as you can move from Number 99 to Number 1 on a snakes and ladders board........

and nowt wrong with both professions

I have been asked before and often wondered why. I am clean, presentable and polite so i don't really see what it matters as long as i can play my own way hotel or petrol wise.

Yes, what someone does for a loving could matter to me. If someone said they were an undertaker every time they touched me I'd wonder where their hands had been: I couldn't relax.

Likewise, if someone said they were an actor, for me that equals professional liar: wouldn't believe a word they told me.

Made me giggle. Same goes for an mp I presume....

We enjoy chatting to people about their jobs. Its very interesting and are richer in knowledge. Have never once met anyone who wasn't happy to chat about it.

It doesn't matter to us but it can be a talking point, especially if its an interesting job. And if someone is a copper a meet is pretty much guarenteed as long as you bring your hat!

Hmm, if it comes up in conversation then maybe I would say, however for me, when I leave the office I try and leave the work and thoughts there on the desk.

Meeting with someone for a social or a hot steamy no string sex session, doesn't usually have me asking for references,

When building a friendship or something else, yes it would come in, however I have never met someone who's job has influenced my feeling over them.

It might make me ask them not to lecture me, or advise me within their professional occupation, but thats my personal choice, business and pleasure etc...

ftr, I work in a small security company, so nothing drastic nor overly exciting

Peoples jobs do matter.

I'd like to meet as many female tax inspectors, traffic wardens and politicians as I can.

Well they've all fucked me enough times, maybe it's my turn now !

I totally agree. It's about how you conduct yourself. Can you hold a sensible conversation or write a proper sentence?

I don't think people care what we all do for a living as long as we are clean, polite and friendly.
