Who plays with similar people to who they might date in 'real' life?

My husband loves to watch me with a young superfit muscle bound stud. In contrary to 'real' life, where these guys don't pass me a second glance on the beach, I find I can get that quite easily on Fab or in a club. But the funny thing is, my choice for regular sex partners are all very similar. Goodlooking and charming, but middle aged with a dad's bod. Exactly what I would go for if I were dating, and very similar to my husband. Do others go for the same type or different from their usual type?

I feel I would be going outside my comfort zone if met someone that wasn't similar to the type of person I would date..so I stick with tall, dark and kinky

Nope , yes , sometimes ...... from 18 year olds to much older , and from CDs , TVs , ts , women , groups , and pretty much anything you could think of , I've had so much fun with all of them .

But this is part of our real life too , we aren't very happy to state that swinging is a lifestyle choice for us .

I really don't have a type (other than being as tall or taller than me).

I'm much more attracted by character/personality than the physical. Outside of Fab the men I've dated/had relationships with are all different physically and it's the same here.

With swinging I have to be physically attracted to someone and I also have to like their personality. That's pretty much as far as it goes. When I was dating I had to be attracted to them physically, I had to like their personality, their intelligence and education mattered, as did their work ethic.

Physically I have sex with the same type of person that I would have considered dating when I was single. But a lot more mattered to me when I was dating than in swinging. I've had sex with people who I wouldn't have considered dating.

This is tough one - and in all honesty the answer is 'yes and no'! I tend to go for younger guys - partly because it 'keeps things simple' (ie too big an age difference for a 'real' relationship so avoids hurt/misunderstandings!) - but in personality, looks etc they're the type of guys I dated when younger - and would do now if I were younger myself!

I tend to have very little in common with people my own age - so don't tend to meet them on fab or in the 'real world!' There are one or two notable exceptions though - largely on the forums!

I don't feel comfortable going with guys who I know wouldn't give me a second glance on the street. I know the sex wouldn't be great as I'd feel uncomfortable. Therefore, I go for guys I'd date...

I am sometimes deliberately meeting with someone I date. just for the experience. and to see if it really matters. goes without saying that I still have to be physically and mentally attached to them.

When I first embarked on this adventure I was after the young,ripped men who most likely wouldn't look twice at me in a bar.

I realised I needed more and now look for men I have things in common with too, so they do tend to be in their 40's+.

Mine are entirely intertwined - I have dated entirely unsuitable people and met top rate 'bf material' on fab. Oh I have my preferences here, and my criteria on dating sites, which is much more demanding - and yet it seems alchemy always comes from the quarter I least expect it!

For swinging I go for a wide variety of body types - personality and eye contact and tone of voice and imagination is more important than looks when it comes to turning me on.

I pretty much only meet younger men, and I'd never date anyway. However, if any other circumstances changed I'd say mostly yes I'd date them, but not always.

Agree with all of the above....has to be a mental connection too as well as physical. So yes to the original question....what i have learned follwong this rule are a load of deviants things..which i never ever in my wildest dreama thought i would encounter. The person or persons have to be on the same wave length.

I have played with loads of women I would never dream of dating because of their age or circumstances. Looks and body though are similar to what I would date.
