I can empathise although I don't recall actively resenting our kids I did sometimes feel a bit hemmed in.

I know it feels like it but it truly isn't forever.

They have a sixth sense for the worst time to be ill.

Ours are usually at their worst a week before a school holiday!

I sympathise.

I've had to call off meets because my children have been ill. I've been accused of lying and being a time waster, but they can go to hell!! They are my kids and they come first.

Doesn't make for a happy mummy, but I get over it.

It was easier if they were ill when one of us had the day off. It used to become very difficult if we both had important stuff going on at work and they were ill but we usually managed.

I was going out of my door to meet a bloke for a social, when my daughter's school rang and said she had been sick. Very last minute cancel XXX

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I don't think I ever really resented my daughter, although I did resent my ex for never babysitting so I never got time off to myself. However my daughter is now living with her boyfriend and I miss her every day, so make the most of them. You have plenty of time later t catch up on your shagging.

I did when youngest was at preschool. The two schools are opposite each other in the same village but their start/finish times were 45mins different & the schools are 15mins away so I'd spend an hour half each day trying to find something to occupy, mad dash to Asda dragging a three year old along (not good) little play in the park (always tears when we'd leave)

Now same school, H takes them on the way to work & I have peace and quiet from 8:30 everyday

Vote UKIP, return to the 19th century.

Send children to boarding school/down the mines.

Sorted.

I find I easier to dump them at the grandparents and don't feel a ounce of guilt by treating them to a fun day beforehand or after for that matter.

When we found the second monster was on his way my parents moved to the other end of the country.

They say it was coincidence.

Just console yourself with the thought that one day they'll probably be stupid enough to reproduce too.

Then we're about to get down to some naughtyness and I hear "mom mom" ...

I watched my son die.

Resenting my remaining children so I can fuck strangers is totally alien to me, but we're all different.

Spare a thought for us poor grandparents who have to pick sick children up from school and cancel plans for babysitting duties.

It doesn't end at your children.

I have a lot of sympathy too, you're not alone for sure x

Many meets I have planned have had to be cancelled because of various things related to my kids.

Some guys think thats me messing about which is annoying

Think it's relevant to point out that the op didn't even mention meeting/shagging - she was simply talking about time to herself!!

Until my ex and I split up, I was the kids' carer 24/7 as he had very little involvement in their lives, and when he did it was largely negative (though to be fair he's a better dad since we split!)

It's only now I'm single that I get a balance of time to myself and time with my kids - and I enjoy them all the more for it!

There are VERY few parents on here who don't put their kids first - so let's give each other hugs instead of criticism!

One positive when they're off school a bit poorly though - you get 1-2-1 time with them and lots of cuddles - and cuddles are my favourite thing!

Can very much identify with the sentiments expressed regarding the ex, and yes, being only human, we can all feel frustrated and resentful at having constant demands on our time. It doesn't mean we don't love our children.

That comment doesn't need explaining!!

It's about perspective..

Im a single Dad and I've brought my 2 sons up on my own . And yes I've worked full time too as im not a dosser .

My boys are older now and don't need me anymore and i miss that .

Id gladly give up my free time to nurse them again through illness or miss out on meaningless sex because there poorly!

This is interesting im a single man one parent family and i work full time and it kicks my ass sometimes. When i do get alone time i waist most of it trying to work out what i actually want to do and normally it's too spontanious to be anything great anyway.

We have had to cancel a meet because of daxs son. The bloke kicked off about it....block and move on.

We all have lives away from this place and people can either take it or not

We all feel like things are happening at the wrong time....it's just life. Enjoy the happy moments and forget the bad

I am sorry to hear you lost your son but the OP never mentioned fucking strangers ... I read it more that its overwhelming and sometimes she would just like some time for herself ... something i assume alot of parents can relate to ... i get parenting comes first but you are also a "person" as well as a parent and some time to connect with that and protect your own mental health is also important

always seems to be the way - my daughter suffers with a long term illness -no cure but not life threatening and took up a lot of my time - they grow up and leave home and then you get your space
