A world of my own

I'm looking forward to waking up in someone's arms on valentines day this year. Its a first. I think it is about love more than others I guess. However it should be something that is felt and shared every day. I'm not looking forward to then leaving and knowing he's going home to someone else. I fear it will hurt more that day than any other.

Valentines Day is overrated. It's just another day. It would mean more to me if someone gave me flowers on a different day, rather than on Valentines Day, as they would be doing it just because that's what is expected for Valentines.

Yes agreed.

Romantic gestures mean so much more when done because you are thinking of that person and not just because its a certain day of the year like Valentines.

I've always found the concept of couples swinging on Valentine's Day - particularly club Valentine swingers parties - A little ironic!

'Darling - let's celebrate our love on this special day allocated to those in love by fucking someone else!'

I totally get couples swinging the other 364 days of the year - as I'd like a loving non-monogamous relationship myself - but I find it mildly amusing that couples would chose to do this on Valentine's Day!

This is just an observation btw - not in any way a condemnation!

I see it feom a slightly different angle. We can swing because we love each other. It isn't in place of something we are missing, we are able to add another layer of understanding to an already full relationship. It's something we do together for our mutual pleasure. Seems totally appropriate for valenines day to me.
