Accommodating

I've just read a profile that says:

'If you can't accommodate you must be married',

Are people really that lacking in the realities of the modern world? I don't for one second doubt that there are some dastardly rapscallions out there that are married but what about people with children, lodgers, flatmates, other family or even people who just don't want to invite a complete stranger into their home? The world doesn't stop for one persons libido.

The word 'must' is thrown around far too loosely on this website.

I never get why people (ok mainly men) are supposed to justify it at all anyway. If I was a single man living alone I'm not convinced I'd want to host a succession of random people off the internet in my home anyway. There are always clubs and hotels, so it's such an odd requirement in my eyes.

I can accommodate, but choose not to, as quite frankly like my home life private!

What I don't get is why, when men have thousands of other women to chose from, zoom-in on the one and only woman who, for whatever reason, doesn't want them

I personally don't have any interest in that person's profile after reading it, none at all and not because of the accommodating point. I didn't have much before in all honesty but curiosity usually gets the better of me. I just thought there was a bigger conversation there for all to comment on whatever the gender as I'm sure both men and women encounter this.

There is not much to comment or negotiate

It is their profile and their requirements. When I see a profile where i don't, can't or won't meet their requirement, I move on to the one where I do

Only the person with the requirement can answer why they have a particular requirement and their thought process behind it

One of my requirements is that I only meet men who are an absolute minimum of 6' tall. Asking a bunch of strangers on an Internet forum why i might have such a requirement will just result in nonsense and second-guessing

Well, that is my comment

We all have different reasons for not accommodating

My home is my sanctuary and I'm certainly not going to be inviting complete strangers into it.

The only time I would consider inviting someone to my home is if I had got to know that person on a few socials and play meets on neutral ground first.

Just how I prefer to do things.

I was asked same thing once, I've put I can accommodate, but it's not ideal place, due to get my own place soon enough, so then I won't have restrictions on myself!! People shouldn't judge others, it same with pics, people say nature of job for example, it ridiculous people have to question our reasons!!

Nobody should ask you but if it one of their requirements, then it is their right to assume whatever they wish to assume and to ignore you

We have been accused of not being a genuine couple because we won't accommodate in our own home. I politely explained we have children , to get the reply 'well they must go to school!' It was afterwards I thought why the heck did I even justify why we choose not to open our home to others. x

Oh, by the way, you do state on your profile "anything else just ask". Maybe, that is why they asked

"dastardly rapscallions

"

Cracking name for a band!

I've been doing renovations at my place, so with all the polythene and dust sheets, someone coming in might fear they aren't leaving in one piece.
