It's come to light as the family and his pregnant gf desperately need answers, and they're revealing all details, including ones they would rather not share with the public, in the hope that he can be found.

His mother from what I read. Maybe she thought it would help with investigations. I don't mind swinging being talked about in the press as it should normalise it ??

Sent my post then saw the answer. If his gf is involved in telling the press their life then that's fair enough, thought DM were using it as a scoop!

I read that it was all coming out on Reddit anyway so they decided to come out theirselves as they don't think it's anything to be ashamed about and the police have ruled it out as having any involvement anyway. Miss T

It's the lead item on bbc news England at the moment, probably not relevant to his disappearance but it's a lead his family gave to the police.

If any of the family involved are reading this thread, I just would like to say that I wish you all the very best, and I hope that you get him home safely.

I think the way that you have dealt with the intrusion into your life is completely appropriate and well handled.

I'm sorry for the situation and how you must be feeling at the world right now.

Sending love.

This, this and more of this!

Stop reading gutter press and maybe they'd stop printing it.

I hope he's found soon.

I didn't miss your point.

It 'appears' that his family have released information about their personal life in a bid to widen the search. I'm pretty sure that if a loved one of mine was missing in such circumstances, I'd do anything I could to get more people to take notice.

Social media in all forms is a useful tool and if you have stuff to hide and you're concerned about being in the limelight of a tabloid paper then do your utmost to keep your stuff private, use a good dose of gut instinct when arranging to meet people and take care of your own personal information.

Not really. People are telling you what has been reported and that was the family let it be known he was on here and it had nothing to do with any site being hacked

The only thing I have taken from the news stories is sadness for the missing chap and his family.

It's a horrific story, anything could have happened to him and I would be going out of my mind if it were Adam.

Somebody posted his profile online for whatever reason and his family have chosen to go public which must have been very hard. Obviously other people were willing to post his business anyway so they have handled it themselves which is very admirable.

I really, really hope he is found safe and sound and that his family aren't receiving any hate from the back of this, they are already suffering enough.

From BBC news

Missing airman Corrie Mckeague's membership of a swingers website is part of the police investigation in to his disappearance.

The 23-year-old RAF gunner vanished after a night out in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on 24 September.

His mother Nicola Urquhart said he had a Fab Swingers account.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said: "We are aware of the social media and websites Corrie was using. This is part of our investigation."

Fab is in the papers every few months, has been for years, and yes there will be a minor rush of new profiles looking for a quick and easy shag, as normal. But they soon disappear when they realise it is hard work.

OP

What makes you think that journalists don't have profiles on here already? You know that the forums are public, you don't need to be a Fab member to read them, anyone with the internet can.

Corries family have known about his use of the site from very early on and the police have been too as well as other sites he used

It's a long shot but if it's even possible he's met/spoke to someone from here in the time leading up to his disappearance then he might have said something to them that they could pass on to police, the article might jog their memory. Even if he said something small to cause concern someone might come forward.

I know some of his family and was pissed when I saw his private life in the paper today but in truth if there's even the smallest chance it would make someone remember something thn it needs to be out there

This is how we found Fab, is from the DM moaning about Swingfields.

The mother of the missing man had said, 'so what they were on a swingers site, it's was their private business'

I hope they can find him safe and well.

This!! It's actually making me really angry.

The article haunts me because a young man is missing, he may have been hurt or suffered a terrible amount.

Yet all some people care about is how many new profiles will be made.

Disgusting!

Let's not forget that this young man is one of us too! Show some concern!!

I hope to god that he is found, I couldn't care less about the impact it has on the site.

There's just been an update on a news site to say the police are probing his use of swingers sites further

If mentioning the site in a newspaper can bring closure to his family then that's the most important thing

The article is about a missing person.....very serious and upsetting for the family.

It mentions that he and partner had accounts here as that may help to find out what happened [although the police have said they don't think there is a link].

It is NOT an article about fabswingers. A sense of proportion is needed here I think.
