It's increasingly obvious that it's close to impossible these days for a guy to strike up conversation with a lady,let alone meet

So...... why do we bother trying ?

With two veris from this year already you don't appear to be doing too badly, disproving your point that it's impossible.

Sure it's not easy, but with the right approach and a dollop of patience it's not by any means impossible to get meets. If a past his best 51 year old like me can have a modicum of success here, there's hope for anyone.
