"Agree in writing who is going to own the photos and image files!!" This is sterling advice for all concerned. If you go ahead be confident and remember that the new smartphones can take excellent photos so perhaps start with someone you trust and have a rapport with?

"Hi, thinking of having a photographer take some pics but wondered if anyone had any advice? " It's worth it. My OH is an amateur photographer and took most of the photos on our profile. The ones with a red light are our most recent set. The ones with a pink/purple bra and knickers were a few years back. We'd advise going to a studio, but look at their photos first. Be wary of black and white. Some b&w are really, really good, but in our experience it's just a below average photographer trying to cover up poor colour in shots. There is a guy in trentham lakes, which is just up the A34 for you, who does modelling sessions. I've had a shoot there and was terrified, but he was brilliant and my OH was in the room during the shoot. The ones of me lying on the floor with a red set on were taken by him. Hoe that helps.

"Ask to see sample photos, think about and agree the sort of shots and poses you want. Agree what will happen to the pictures, who has the rights to them, who has the original files. Agree on payment and what you will get for your money. I have reduced my fee in exchange for rights over certain pictures, which bolster my portfolio. Any serious photographer shouldn't have a problem with any of the above. Talk to them, if you don't feel relaxed over a chat, it ain't going to get any better when you're undressed in front of them. " what he said.

"If I lived closer, I'd offer myself! As I don't can I suggest when you find a photographer you feel comfortable with, insist they use your memory card, and only your memory card, and you keep it when the shoot is finished. Good luck, and I hope it's loads of fun!" why is it all self proclaimed photographers on here have less than professional looking pics on their profile

"If you get a photographer, ensure that the following applies: He/She is a genuine photographer and not a fake. At the start of the shoot, supply him/her with the memory card and ask for it back at the end. Then you will know that you have all the images secured. Remember, some modern DSLR cameras take two memory cards and the images can be duplicated so check that only one is in the camera." I wish people would stop saying this..photographs mostly out of the camera are edited..I shoot in RAW format...hardly bloody useful to people who dont even know what RAW is. If I had to I would edit as many pics as I could after the meet(in their company, it'd be a rather boring process depending on how many pics I've done lol), and I mean on my laptop in photoshop.I've been on lots of meets and taken 100's of pics in one session, sometimes not finishing the editing till the next day...something I'd obviously do at home. If people dont trust me, go to a professional photographer and pay money...I've never charged ny fab meet money at all in the number of years I've been on fab.

There are tonnes of people I've seen with quite expensive cameras on normal photography sites I use...its amazing some can take a great shot of something and shove it straight online without tweaking/enhancing.rendering their pic essentially a bit shite.

Spot on. Lightroom and Photoshop is the modern equivalent of the darkroom. Why would anyone not use it? All the purist boasting of 'I get it right in camera' is just bs. I've yet to see a RAW image that hasn't needed some processing. And I do try to get as much right in camera. It cuts down my batch editing time.

"Photography threads do seem to stir up the waters." I think this is the most constructive one I've seen, probably because the OP is asking for advice, whereas it's usually offers from people who are not obviously capable.

"You can't always be obviously capable. It was poor shorthand for "has shit selfies"..." I hate selfies , there is always a slightly strange pose, due to one shoulder at an angle to take the shot, and there's too much pouting When I finally admitted to myself that I needed a selfie, it involved a tripod, three remote flashes and a wireless trigger! I like to think it came out OK.

"Its always interesting to get the straight line from a pro tog. They have a tough job to do in a world where everyone takes pictures and have to be good to earn their living. It will be good to hear if the OP has found this thread's advice helpful for what she wanted." I work in weddings and studio portraiture/boudoir. All ridiculously tough when competing with the £150 a day charging hobbyist shooters.

"An OP asks for advice on a subject and then some good advice follows. The OP can decide for themselves whether or not the advice is good, bad or relevant. However, what invariably follows is that some others berate some of the advice given. Are these people trying to convey a message that their advice is better because they think they are better in that particular field? What utter bollocks. In this case the OP asked for photographers advice and some good advice followed. RAW Jpeg? It doesn't matter. Good images from both. Not everyone enhances with a computer programme, in fact I would bet that most on here do not. The OP got some good advice - great! There's no need to criticise others. This is an open forum ffs."

"why is it all self proclaimed photographers on here have less than professional looking pics on their profile Could it be they didn't take their own pictures? Doh!" The point is that they should be able to. There are enough examples of people who clearly can, so those who can't are immediately ruining their own chances. And this never seems to be occurred to them.

"As a semi pro photographer (not in the erotic world) I'd say that most people offering their services in here are probably in it for the thrill" true, as a amateur Photographer, who can take good picture's mainly of sport events or scenery ( not erotic ) I would love to be asked, yes I would enjoy it, who wouldn't enjoy it that's why where on the site. but for me it's about the chance to see how good the pictures could be. Not some thing you get the chance to shoot every day. but a tricky one as regards to who to trust. I would like to the meet the couple a few times to get to know them first, and to understand what sort of pictures they would want

"I have also made a thread like this on here before, it didn't go down too well! However, I have a small portfolio that was able to show to a couple of Fab members and a shoot did actually come from it which was great. I make no claims of being a pro, I've been doing photography as a hobbyist for around 3 years and in the past year have been trying to expand my model portfolio. So if anyone would like to work together please get in touch, more than happy to show some previous work and discuss your requirements " google paddyola deviantart thats me

"I have recently taken a couple of shots of a lady on her phone! I didn't have a camera with me, and she emailed them to me for subsequent editing. She trusts me and I will not use them without her permission. For a phone camera, I'm quite pleased, but I know they would have been so much better taken on a dslr it all depends on the shot really.. even on phone camera it can be made to look like its been done on a dslr(dont be fooled, it is not the camera itself, its always about the lenses lol and of course the editing)...I watch the angry photographer a lot...on his recommendation I bought a CHEAP 50mm 1.8 nikon E series lens, for £30...after he made that recommendation the price shot up ten fold. this lens is from the 1970's....and its fucking sharper than most modern lenses...you have to manual focus etc etc...but wow....old tech....its nothing new" apologies last poster, I couldnt quote u

"I'd love to have some erotic photos taken of me, I was thinking of going to a professional but just not sure." I can't be too far from you Ms Minx (north Leeds here, near the airport), and would love to take some erotic shots of you - indoors and especially outdoors. Read your profile with great interest - and you clearly adore the visual side of this wonderful place, as I do. No other expectation other than the thrill of your sexy company and the mutual joy of taking pictures for you. So please, if that sounds as if it might have some possibilities, do please come and say hell and let's chat about how we could indulge each other? David x

"Agree in writing who is going to own the photos and image files!!" Any decent photographer should be happy to discuss ownership with you. However the rule of thumb has always been the person(s) commissioning the work own the images and copyright. It can't hurt to set out a written agreement in which you clarify who owns the work and if the photographer has any rights to use the work for anything else (e.g. use on their website/portfolio, photo blogs etc) and outlining any necessary conditions. You can also use a non-disclosure agreement in a similar way.

"insist they use your memory card, and only your memory card, and you keep it when the shoot is finished. Good luck, and I hope it's loads of fun!" I dont really get that advice unless you want very average product in return. Modern photography session doesnt end in the studio. Editing is a huge part of finished photo. Most photographers will use very flat colour profile for shooting to get much more "space" for editing. Trust is everything here.
