Does safer sex include oral?

Hi. Looking for thoughts. Firstly, I am aware that there is no such thing as safe sex when including multiple partners. Many people on here stipulate safe sex but this rarely extends to oral sex. Why is this? Many diseases and viruses can be transmitted orally, but this isn't seen as a threat.

Very small risk with being orally transmitted. The day I have to wear a condom for blowjobs though is the day I stop wanting one.

Lots of people dont even realise its possible to pas STI this way. Others see it as an acceptable risk that they are prepared to take. Some will insist on condoms and demtal dams for oral.

Some may insist on condoms and dental dams, but they seem to be a very small minority.

Well I've been to clubs a lot and never seen people use oral contraceptives. They don't even change condom from switching from 1 lady from another.

Oral sex without dental dams and condoms is inherently unsafe; stop kidding yourselves

Straight from NHS web site......

Oral sex is the stimulation of the genitals using the mouth and tongue. It is one of the ways that sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are most frequently passed on. Really wouldn't say small risk lol

NHS England have to say that as it is true. But the research does support that it is a lower risk. The saliva kills things to an extent.

Being circomsised reduces risk as less surface area. (African studies of tribes where circomsision is a custom over ones where it is not)

As for not changing comdom when switching partner. That is just bad mannors and frankly kick to prick out of the room.

At the end of the day it is not who you are but what you do that determineds risk.

Practice SAFER sex and you reduce yours and your partners risks.

Condoms for oral down to your personal choice. Me i prefer to give them a miss with oral. Put penitrative then no jacket no entry

Mainly because oral sex with condoms isn't anywhere near as good and it's very unlikely you'll catch anything they can't treat easily.

they mostly change condoms or trust me people comment

Being latex intolerant I always give people mine.

As to the Op... the clinic told me that while there is a risk... its a minimal risk from oral. And almost a zero chance of contracting hiv. Which for most is the big worry.

Therefore we dont use condoms for oral but do for full sex and get tested including oral swabs every 4-6 weeks..
