Instead of a hostile profile complete with a tick list of NOT ALLOWED! DON'T DO THIS! DON'T BOTHER IF! SINGLE MEN FUCK OFF AND DIE! Blah blah

Why do most profiles not give some clue as to the personality who wrote it, or what they actually desire?

I mean whoever is managing the infinite inbox is going to have to have some patience and be fucked around a lot. Even with strong digital and mental filters.

Why not sell yourself for who you are, who you're looking for, why you want them and what for. Maybe then the right people could find you easier.

Granted, mine is rubbish, I'm a hypocrite, but that's because I'm crap, not because I didn't put the effort in.

I can understand a minor rant. Both from my own sex and from others. I just think temporary frustration and potential anger doesn't belong on a profile permanently. We all go through fab phases; if it's winding you up THAT MUCH!!! then just hide it for a bit or block all messages. Those that don't read profiles still won't read it anyway and continue to annoy you and those who do may be put off the ranty dramaness. Meaning the inbox gets worse not better and it becomes a downward ranty spiral.

It's pretty difficult to not get ranty when you have to wade through a lot of crap.

whats the point if people don't read your profile in the first place ? my profile is about what I want and don't want yet 95% of messages I get clearly have not read what I have wrote.

i think people do start off with all these wants and desires, they put them on their profile and it mostly gets ignored and others start sending their own wants and desires to them ignoring the fact that there is another person with wants and desires of their own that they are talking to.

so up goes the i don't want this, i don't want you, leave me alone, omg why does nobody care what i want, arg!!!!

this is why we can't post PM in the forums coz if we did most women would leave the site in disgust.

I scrapped my profile and put a couple of important messages on it, meaning to go back and write more. Then I got talking to someone and forgot. I did find that when I had a lot about myself on there and what I enjoy, I got messages asking for that specifically. As I'm not here to provide a service, I deleted it.

I had a quite jocular profile a few years ago, but it attracted people who wanted a lot of bantery chats. I don't do that now, so it won't come back.

You then have a clear choice to make contact or not, before anyone's time gets wasted,or worse still,a meet goes south because you're not well informed up front
