Ok this is a major turn off for me....

Reading profiles on here or other dating sites when guys/girls describe themselves as extremely attractive or attractive.

Surely it depends on who's looking to make that judgement I dnt need telling.

It's arrogant and well 9 out of 10 times they shoulda gone to specsavers...

Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. Someone I consider attractive may not be for everyone and vice versa.

Have seen people who are considered the bees knees and have been so surprised when in my eyes they just didn't appeal to me. But each to their own.

I honestly can't date anyone super attractive... they tend to have no soul and can't love anyone but themselves. They tend to always drive me crazy

Nope puts us off too as do up their own jacksie usernames even if they are only in jest.

The number of times we see "Fit or athletic" on profiles where they must have used someone else's pics is another one. A lot are chubbier than us & sometimes we think we take the piss with "average" especially just after Xmas.

So by the time you allow for that, the "greying" of ages, dodgy heights etc. You could be expecting to meet Brad Pitt & find Eartha Kitt instead

If someone considers themselves to be attractive I don't have a problem with them saying so. After all the key to success on Fab is to sell yourself in an honest way (IMO). To me it's only arrogant if they assume their attractiveness means they can get what they want without any effort. I have no issue with honest self-awareness though. Is beauty in the eye of the beholder? Yes too certain extent. But there are people that fall into the camp of being considered generally goodlooking by most, and these people usually know who they are.

The sexiest people ive met don't put attractive on their swingers / models profiles, they may know they are attractive but wouldn't dream of saying so because they allow other's to be the judge of that.

Horses for courses though for those who do because having a swingers profile is like having a selling page & every little helps

I personally look at a profile & veri's before looking through galleries as real attractiveness comes from within.

To be honest, someone putting that in their profile wouldn't put me off. If someone labels themselves as attractive in their profiles, I see it as being a little confident in their physical appearance. I do find self confidence sexy. They are just trying to sell themselves a bit and appear more appealing. If someone says they are funny or has a good personality.. Does that make them arrogant too? Funny how people get judged on speaking about their personal view of their physical appearance, yet it's okay to big up their inner characteristics. This is so true. Attractiveness is one of many characteristics that, although subjective, can be a good way of describing oneself. Being a funny person is also subjective. There may be a very successful comedian. By definition he/she would be considered funny. But his/her humour may not be to everybody's taste. He/she would still have the right to say that being funny is a quality they have, as long as they are not arrogant about it. Self awareness of personal attributes (including subjective attributes) is considered a healthy self-confidence. Except when it comes looks - then it's politically correct. I personally like a man who believes he's goodlooking, or great fun, or intelligent (there are many personal attributes). I don't like arrogant people though.

We have something similar on our profile..it basically says that we consider ourselves to be good looking which isn't a lie as we wouldn't be together if we repulsed each other ha ha.

We don't expect other people to find us good looking though and often say so in our messages. We know that nobody will ever be attractive to everyone.

Perhaps we should still change the wording..

Why is it so wrong for someone to believe they are attractive? Why can't people have some self esteem and think to themselves.... I look alright. I see this argument come up all the time with reference to the term bbw. People say that women, especially fat women, should not call themselves beautiful because they might not be to everyone else. It's not about what they are to everyone else. It's how they feel about themselves.

Celebrate how you feel about yourself. Give yourself compliments. Don't allow other people's opinions dull your sparkle.
