"Are collers nessesery in a sub Dom relationship"

It all depends on the person. ..I suppose. ..in my opinion. ..collars are not a necessity in a Dom/sub relationship.

Maybe 50 shades wannabes say they are!

It's the equivalent of saying is a wedding ring necessary in a relationship. Personal choice, interpretation of/or level of commitment. Plus, there are different types of collars.

No, it's not necessary.

I wouldn't say it's necessary, but I love wearing mine and it puts me in the zone instantly

Collars are not a necessity, this is something we discussed and decided together.

There are different levels of collar for example a training collar.

But generally the meaning of them runs as deep if not deeper than marriage vows.

That your asking strikes us as your not comfortable with wearing one??

Op feel free to private message if you need to know anything xx

Lucy has a nice slut collar. Although why would wearing one be necessary?

The only thing necessary is a desire to submit.

Its not a requirement but it does help put her in 'play mood'

I like seeing her wear it too

Depends how 'corny' you want it to be.

No. It's a mental thing.

However if a sub enjoys wearing a collar then go for it

A collar is just a symbol, for D/s I would say not really necessary but a 'nice' thing and a sign of commitment, however if your looking at Master/slave it would be most essensitial, but if your into that you would have no say anyway having given yourself totally.

Vik wears a simple steel collar. She has worn it continuously every day now for 10 years this month. The only times it comes off are for medical reasons (steel ring around your neck in an MRI scanner going to cause a mess).

We describe it to people as above that it is similar in meaning to us as a wedding ring. In many ways it means more to us than our wedding rings (which came a couple of years after the collar).

For others the collar is a signal for 'play' time or helps them 'switch heads' so speak from the 'vanilla' life to the BDSM one.

It all depends on what it means to the pair of you and what you decide.

Absolutely not, anyone telling you anything is an absolute must doesn't have what it takes to be a Dom and should be avoided in my experience.

A Dom will always respect your limits, and if for some reason that's a collar then it's a collar. Do not play in a D/s way with someone who doesn't put your needs in the mix too.

Personal choice. As most of the feelings build up over time and can be exchanged with a look symbols are not so much

needed but can become more tresured. You don't need a wedding ring but it's nice to have one if you're in love .

No.

They are a symbol, and can look amazing, but are not essential.

Depending on the level of your relationship, it might be used to signify that you are playing sub at that time.

Or if you are more serious, it might show that you are 'owned'.

If you are playing at a club, it might mean people should ask your dom for permission to play with you.

But it's down to each individual what a collar means to them.

If you don't want to wear one, say so to your dom. If he or she doesn't respect your limits, look for a new one.

we have been asked to wear one several times but feel we will only for that one special person as a show of total obedience and if we do decide to wear one it will be the most erotic thing

"Im not collared. Its not necessary"

Ah yes, the first one with a reply that gets it.

If you are playing at BDSM for fun then as others have said it's up to you.

If you're living the lifestyle then as someone else said it's symbolically equal to the wedding ring (which used to be worn on the ankle and denoted property) and if you are into that particular niche of BDSM where being collared matters then it is necessary.

For values of necessary that aren't, necessary things are food and shelter and oxygen, everything else is like a 60" TV (fnaar fnaar most of the TV's on here are over 60"), necessary to some, not to others.

None of the stereotypical collars, crops, paddles, ties etc are in your words "necessary".

There are many ways to control, including by words alone.

Like everything else it should be a matter of choice. When I first got together with my lady although curious she was very hesitant. When she got to know and trust me it was her that made the suggestion. She now wears one in daily life and a more in your face version when we go out to party. I couldn't be more proud
