So I was hoping someone could help me, I was overtaking on a hill on a dual today and as I reached the top a big sign flashed up saying slow with a 40mph on it.

Pretty sure I was doing over that!

So my question is are those signs speed cameras or just warning signs?

It's a warning sign.

If speed cameras are in operation they have to have signs up notifying you of speed cameras.

It a warning so to be carful next time as speeding cam sprouting everywhere now adays and no mersey I once Counted around 15 in short stretch of a moyorway

Some signs are set incorrectly and actually light up when you're below the speed. Black cat roundabout going north is my example. They aren't cameras. No i don't work for the police.
