It's like a being bloody voyeur. I am what I am and you can see that though my profile and forum posts what I feel. Why hide in the dark side where no one can see you? It annoys the fuck out of me. Cxxx

I hide my profile if I want a break from the site. Means I don't show on a search. I also filter my message when on a break. that probably really pisses off some blokes but tough. I run my profile the way I wish to.

I think if you have been through a tough time it is a legitimate reason for hiding your profile.... but over 30% of the people who look at us do not reciprocate. We are open to scrutiny and they are hidden. It simply isn't equitable and annoys the fuck out of me.

Generally I believe it is just the action of bottom feeders who are unwilling to share their need or vulnerability or they are just abusing the openness of the rest of us.

Wow.

I hid our profile as we have decided to have a short break from meets for reasons that are nobody's business but ours, but are damn good ones.

Hiding your profile stops it showing in searches and therefore reduces the influx of inbound messages by 98%

What's the point in wasting everyone's time adversting something that isn't currently available?

I didn't realise that by having a short break it meant we weren't allowed to come on the site to speak to our friends, participate in the forums, see what is happening in our favourite clubs, and look to see if there is anyone who might tickle our fancy in the future...and that in doing so it would install such venomous hatred in other users!

I stand corrected by the profile police.
