It's ok, society regularly reinforces that we're beautiful for maintaining a size ten or under figure (either with exercise, diet, or just good genetics) - you don't really need to make special posts.

I'm scared of saying anything, but considering I've gone up two dress sizes in the last twelve months due to an increased appetite I'm not slim anymore.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and I think it's also down a lot to the charisma of the person...something you can't always see or feel when looking at photographs...I've seen women of all shapes and sizes that attract me..not everyone but some of the larger ladies ooze sex appeal. Size isn't everything certainly in my case

I don't think any of the larger ladies, myself included, would ever be offended by preferences.

The only thing that does offend me is being categorised. Slim doesn't equal beautiful. That's all down to the individual.

The sad fact is that slim and or athletic are seen as normal hence why you don't see as many threads.

You'll notice when men start the 'bbw' threads it's like they're talking about a taboo, in general they will start with 'is it just me' or 'I don't know why but....'

Not really good for the ego.

That's my thoughts anyway.

agree wholeheartedly!

Would no longer describe myself as slim sadly - but I certainly appreciate the work that usually goes into a slender or muscular/gym fit body - whether male or female - and I'd be lying if I said I didn't find it attractive!

It seems like ANY generalising is shut down even though it is often appropriate.

Traits associated with healthiness and virility are always desired more (on average), how many of you girls like men who are tall? Or a healthy complexion? How many men like a small waist and broad hips.

There is always devoted niche groups who worship a particular taste though and there is always someone for everyone.

"everyone already knows slim/athletic is..." The most easily socially acceptable norm, as it enforces/reinforces a billion pound diet industry, and perpetuated by the fashion industry, advertising, etc.

I was beautiful when I was very fat. I am beautiful now I'm merely podgy. I'll hopefully still be beautiful if I'm ever slim, notwithstanding any mishap occurring between now and a possible then. Merely my own opinion, I grant, but it's mine that really counts. To me.

Threads like this make my head hurt. We all have our preferences and a quick look at the forums would confirm that all body types are adored on site. I can't bear fetishising (is that even a word or did I make it up?) and it would never cross my mind to hurl abuse at anyone because their idea of beauty didn't coincide with mine. Beauty comes from within. A confident sexy woman comes in a multitude of shapes and sizes. I personally might not fancy her but that doesn't mean she's not attractive and beautiful to someone else. Please don't let this thread degenerate into a slanging match!

I say praise whoever your attracted to. As a larger lady I'm in no way offended by someone saying sorry prefer slim women.

It's when they praise that preference whilst being derogative towards women that don't match it that I'd take issue with, there's just no need for it

See I've been slim I've been bigger than I am now, yet I don't feel any more/less desired as my weights fluctuated at either end of the scale, but perhaps that because I've always carried myself with confidence regardless, people underestimate how attractive the qualities of self worth and confidence are to many people as long as that line is drawn at confidence and not arrogance

Well, I am gonna appreciate the fact that I am now what I would consider slim.

Well, slimmer than I've been in 20 yrs.

So, I've changed my avatar just for this and I'm celebrating. I'm celebrating going from a tight 16 in March to a comfortable 10 now.

I'm celebrating that the body stocking I brought back then that made me feel sick when I looked in the mirror, well, today I felt wonderful in it.

I'm celebrating that I've gained my confidence back, and although it's not all about my weight, I admit part of it is.

I am not the fat idiot who can do nothing right (my ex talking)

I'm the generous, caring person with a good heart....who happens to now be 'slim'

So, if anyone wants to poo poo me for that, well, go fuck yourself.

"Let's face it slim young women are desired by most!

I used to be slim and young and I didn't feel invisible ( in real life) as I do now

The reason why BBW threads are so popular is because we all know that men that like fat women are in the minority!

I think it's more of a numbers thing - there are more larger ladies on here - and everywhere for that matter nowadays.

You only have to do a quick search of women on here to see that's not the case...

I do frequent searches and I use my eyes when I'm out and about. I also read the news and it is most definitely the case that there are more overweight people in the population than not."

You can be overweight and not even look it. A third of UK adults are obese. I use my eyes too. They're useful, right!

I agree that being fat is becoming 'normalised' if that's what you mean - as in our perception of what's fat is different because we're used to seeing so many overweight people.

But that would still mean there are generally more overweight people here and in general and hence why not only the threads about them attract more of those people... but also the threads that are not about them (like this) also do.

It's just numbers.

"Well, I am gonna appreciate the fact that I am now what I would consider slim.

Well said! I can relate a little, having worked hard myself to achieve my current weight and build. My personality remains the same, but I'm now a little more confident.

Anyway, I think you look great "

I normally stay away from the size threads. However, as others have said, slim women are generally more accepted and preferred. It's a default setting. Have you noticed the amount of slim women who feel the need to comment on a BBW thread!?

There's this misconception that all bigger women are somewhat haters of slim women and those that enjoy them.

This is an interesting post - you really don't strike me as someone who cares what society expects of them. Do you think you are here to stand up for all those poor, weak willed people who do as they are told?

I've rarely noticed that. If anything it mostly seems the other way round although admittedly I don't analyse them in too much detail - I just pop in for the pics and it would be good to see some more of the subject matter

Yeah, have a little look next time you see a thread. Maybe read this one, which gets a couple of posts in before someone makes out how offended we get. I'll leave out the patronising emoji...

Let's be honest here ffs!

As a bigger woman I'm not attracted to small men.

But unfortunately most men regardless of size are attracted to small women!

It's just how it is!

On this site it's a different story!

It's just sex!

Most men I know want a slim girlfriend/ wife

So I no longer feel flattered when some young hunk with a six pack wants to put his cock in me!

Yawn!

Real life reactions matter more to me!

My slimmer younger friends are more popular - that is a fact!

I was being honest I do considerably better in the real world than my slimmer friends and equally as well as when I was slim myself. I'm single at the moment because I choose to be, not because I have to be, since I'm a fat lass so no one wants me.

And being honest you aren't really all that big, especially in comparison to me, but the big difference is evidently our mindsets

I've always been the token fat one and I might as well be invisible. The statistics about weight in the population always confuse me, apparently practically everyone is overweight and obese now, but I'm the fattest person in my family, friends and workplace by some distance. I don't know where all these other fatties are, unless they just don't leave the house much.

So, gorgeous slim women, next time you feel overlooked because there are 4 BBW threads on the go, why not pick up a magazine, turn the telly on or go outside and you'll get all the validation that you are the right way to be that you need.

I'm sorry but this site doesn't represent what most people in the real world think!

If you are fat confident and happy then you're in the minority!

I agree with Ruby if you are a slimmer woman you are validated every day!

I'm sorry but the comment about mindset and being alone through choice is the same bullshit I have heard from every overweight woman I know!

And I'm not putting anyone down but getting laid on Fab when you've got a vagina isn't exactly difficult!

You can "say it as it is" with as many exclamation marks as you like but it's merely your opinion, based on what you feel you experience, it isn't the law nor fact for everyone.

The only person in this world you need validation from is yourself, and as bollocks as you may feel it is once you've learnt to do that in my experience people tend to follow

I did suggest that on a "slim women" thread last week that the really daring and unusual thing to do (because that's what they claimed to be doing in praising slim women) would be to post one in praise of the slim man, but those thread protagonists never got back to me.

Have their moment? The entire world outside a small number of posts on this site is geared up to praise and devotion of the slim and beautiful. Forgive me if my heart really doesn't bleed for them.

Yeah....best to apply the "ignorance is bliss" No life = arguing about a subject that you're not familiar with. Slim, beautiful appreciation is taboo. Go to the bbw , negative, arguments, no life thread. Over and out

yeah it's irrelevant and a bit jealous and insecure of you. It's appreciation of slim, beautiful woman. You're heart isn't appreciating or celebrating us. What are your issues or why comment, unless give appreciation. Not rocket science.

What, like in a public forum with an OP stating that all slim women are inherently gorgeous by virtue of their slimness? Pointing out that the world at large (no pun intended) also makes such assumptions regularly is highly appropriate.

Maybe I shouldn't comment on this as I've not experienced it but hell - that's not a great way to feel. Unworthy? I have friends of all shapes and sizes in the vanilla world and I've never heard them say anything like this - it makes me wonder if I've not listened well enough and that makes me sad. Self confidence is a powerful tool but I get what Ruby Woo is saying about images shown by the media. We are who we are: human beings with a voice should we choose to use it.

Ruby is bloody gorgeous! Believe me, she has nothing at all to be jealous about. That did make me laugh though... Also check every other forum thread, people always have differing opinions. Just like the BBW threads, where slim women also provide commentary, and sometimes disagree with comments stated on the thread. Its the forums... People can comment where they like

Thanks, Op for the compliment to the minority, majority etc. All women, men are created beautiful and are attractive, attracted to their mates. Personality, attraction, choice of what we as individuals choose to embrace. However, quality, adult, real feminists who build equality of the sexes will never be found on a forum of "all about me" I'm fat" I'm slim" boo boo boo. Own who you are! Failing that, stick with the cave men. Giving women a bad name. Happy Weekend

People of all shapes and sizes can feel down on their bodies, a lot of people seem to have this opinion that because the media promotes slim women that all slim women must be happy with themselves and that's just not the case, lots of slim women have bad body image just as lots of big people do

But it a slim women comments on not liking her body she is seen as an attention seeks just fishing for compliments by a lot of people

Just where I need to be.

I once read "Don't compliment me by insulting other women. That's not a compliment that's a competition we never agreed to." Whatever body type we are, there are people that will admire it. We all have preferences, one body type is no better just because someone prefers it. We may have at one point in our lives battled with our own body image whether we are slim, average or larger.
