It's not illegal but (in my opinion) it's definitely wrong, waaaaayyyyyy wrong, I'm Irish and I've a big family, my dads got 10 brothers and 4 sisters, my moms one of 9, so I've a serious amount of cousins, but still, it's just wrong, on so may levels. That's family, maybe it's cause I've no sisters, and maybe I put my female cousins in that bracket. Even though, it's still a No. A big fat, no way, never, No, from me

Apparently, this is only an issue if both cousins mothers are sisters. It has something to do with Mitochondrial DNA - which is only passed on from mother to child - therefore, if both your mothers are sisters, you will share Mitochondrial DNA - which can lead to health problems in any offspring you may produce.

We went to the same school, would always be at each other's houses, days out were always a two-family affair, we even had family holidays together.
