Like to know what people think? I've got a lady friend who I've known for quite a while now,she's sadly fallen on hard times,so I've been helping her out with money(not a lot)so she can get food,well we was chatting,and she asked me if I'd like to have sex with her as I'm not getting any at home,and it would be her way of repaying me,question is?does that class her as a prostitute?

Certainly wouldn't class it as prostitution. Sounds like your friend is in a pretty shit situation and she thinks she only has her body to give to you by means of repayment.

The bigger question is whether you take her up on that offer really.

doesn't make her a pro, as she never offered services for the money initially.

i do think she either feels obligated to repay you with sex, could be she wants you to fully support her and get into a relationship and sees sex as a way of doing that so be careful.

people have thoughts they wouldn't usually have when desperate.

Maybe you helping her has brought about her developing romantic feelings for you and that is her way of saying. Perhaps if she knows that you aren't getting any at home, she may think that your current relationship isn't working and that a new relationship with her could blossom.

So no, I wouldn't really call it being a prostitute.

Not at all. I see it as someone who is struggling, and thankful for your help, for you being a good friend, and is trying to find a way to to show her appreciation.... My guess is that she fancies you a bit too. Please don't go down that road of seeing her like that. I'm sure she'd be mortified if she had an inkling that your thought process was heading in that direction. The only thing I would say is, if your friendship is very close, do you think the sexual element may impact the friendship? If not, then I would suggest having a discussion about what you both want... Though perhaps waiting until she's back on her feet, would be a better time to take things further, if that's what you both still want to do

I would say it depends on the strength of your moral compass.

Personally I'd rather keep the status quo and keep the friendship strong, if you are that close you talk about the fact you are not getting any at home then maybe yes she feels it's her way of showing thanks, as she feels low about her situation. Because she is in a shit situation maybe she feels it's all she can offer you, reassure her you don't need her to do that to be friends, her friendship, company and seeing her back in her feet should be reward enough.

Don't muddy the waters fella, sex is not the be all and end all, you've a right hand for that.

I wouldn't touch her, she's on her arse and insecure. Money driven relationships are never a good thing. I've been in a similar situation with a neighbour who's now back on her feet and we're still very good friends. I really don't think that'd be the situation had I let my knob do the thinking.
