Just wondering why we are not allowed to name and shame when meets don't turn up or fail to reply/contact you to say they are not coming after all?

possibly 'cos it would be a never ending thread?

or open to abuse by people who would use it to be nasty? Eg. people turned down politely?

or those named and shamed would leave and come back with a refereshed or new profile if thats possible to do.

Because people could make false claims and also use it maliciously . after all whos to say that the poster of such a claim is the one whos being honest.

If someone dosent turn up there may be a valid reason and dont deserve to be naked and shamed. What if a neighbour decided to name you as being on a swinging site . No, its not something that should be allowed and i doubt if admin would allow it for all the right reasons.

if someone dont turn up just block them and move on

If it was allowed then what's to stop me doing it now with your name if I wanted to? even though we have never met I could just decide I don't like you and blam, you're tarred and feathered without a trial.

It's best to just block and/or report things for admin to decide.

we heard astory from a couple who had that done tothem. notes through neighbours doors. pictures posted to friends, its not a path anyone should even think of going , and when you think about it, whos worse , the "no show" or the vindictiveness of going public"

How do admin decide???? I don't think they do much. Never seems to have affected any I have reported. One guy was using someone elses pics. I saw him on cam......eventually. think he is still here lieing til his pants are on fire!!

note use of the word 'may'... usually 3 sides to the story.. theirs, the other partys and possibly a fusion of the 2.

and thats why admin won't react on just one persons say.. banning them or branding them would just be so wrong..

Dogging meet planned,all ready to go,and bloke gets a text,babysitter let us down,so will be bringing little one!

Happened to a mate on another site.He didn't show and the couple no doubt started a timewaster thread.

I guess action needs to be taken to couples who uses pics from internet and pass it as their own. I once got a reply from a cpl whom we confronted for using a pic from internet and he said " my wife looks almost similar to the lady in the pic".. I did complain, but i think they still in the website..

I've learned the error of my ways but the fact still remains that not everyone on this sitd is who they say they are. Be careful out there comuters xx

That question gets answered all the time on the forums...but I will paste it again.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is re_iewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

Admin

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly re_iew your feedback and take the necessary action. After re_iewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******

In theory it sounds like a good idea and believe me, we understand peoples anger and disappointment when people let them down but just occasionally the excuse may be valid no matter how far fetched it may sound. I would hate to name and shame someone and then find out that their excuse, no matter how pathetic it seemed at the time, was valid.

Prove what you're saying is true about the idividuals. You can't can you and therefor if you name then you know the site rules re this so you set yourself up for breaching the site rules.

Get over it and move on and or follow site rules re this situation

DO we really want to have to have the mods on tap 24 hours a day seven days a week to decide who to believe?

Back in the grim and distant past on the interweb, when MSN groups still existed, there was one singles group that got the ultimate in attention seeking - a single who created sock puppets to announce her own death. The mayhem continued for months as people tried to work out who to believe and who not to.

Do we really want a name and shame policy with all the arbitration and fakery that might go with it? It's shit when people don't turn up as promised, but that was also true of the church youth club disco when I was 14, and no-one asked the vicar to read out the names of the lasses who'd stood lads up form the pulpit.
