Before I went laser, I shaved every day in the shower, best way to avoid razor burn.

Every day if I'm likely to be meeting anyone. But normally every three days. As this avoids razor rash. I trim the rest every other week

Unhygienic, didn’t you know, the micro-cuts one gets when shaving increases the chance of catching a number of STIs including herpes and risks ingrown hairs which can become infected

Pubic hair is there to protect your genitalia from friction and infection

Yes, this is probably true.

However, we haven't seen the figures - it may increase the chance by 10% but if the original level of infection is 1 in 100 000 then that would change to 1 in 10 000. We need more information.

One thing I feel is certain, however, if shaving did increase the risk to a problematic degree then we'd be seeing an epidemic by now. As far as I can tell, being shaven (at least under 30 years old, in many cases much older) has been the norm for women for several years now. If there was a real risk then the health problem would be significant. As far as I can tell it's not - lord knows, the tabloid headlines on this would be everywhere!

Sharp razor too of course

But I got sick of it, lasered the darn things off. If you have the right hair/skin colour combo and enough ££ then it is pretty effective.

My problem - it shows how many grey pubes and pit hairs I have !

Some women do it because they think they have to, that they have no choice because the media, particularly porn, portray it as normal. I even have women apologise that they've not done it and there are thousands of threads discussing it on pregnancy forums.

It's not the norm.

Limbo

I epilate as much as I dare ... don't fancy catching anything sensitive in those whirring blades ... and finish off with a razor. Obviously the hair has to have grown a little to be able to do this, as with waxing, so maybe every 3 weeks or so.

I don't care what anyone else does, each to their own.

There are many studies to support this, eg by the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, but this article summarises pretty well: http://metro.co.uk/2016/03/17/heres-why-you-shouldnt-shave-your-pubes-5757915/

Well, although pube free myself, I prefer pubes on a woman to smooth.

Not that'd it stop me heading down there.. !

I much refer unshaven pits too, a woman at the gym today hadn't shaved hers for, say, a week or so. I was, putting it mildly, somewhat distracted!
