How important are face pictures? I get lots of messages from men saying they would love to meet me, yet they've no idea what my face looks like. I joke to them that I could look like Shrek for all they know.

Are men really that shallow and desperate that they would meet anyone, regardless of whether they found a woman physically attractive?

What's anyone else's thoughts on this?

It's a big turn off for me, even if, and this is rare, the profile of said messenger is a good one. Desperation just isn't attractive at all. Added to which, if they don't care what you look like it makes me feel very objectified ...

We never ask for or send face pictures and our profile states this.... but then we only do couple + couple meetings with people we have met before at parties.

The problem with pictures are that some of the best people we have met are the ones whose pictures may not have prompted us to travel long distance for.. and some of the visually most attractive people have not been as much fun...

So going on pictures alone can be very misleading..

In the early days when we would send out pictures a couple sent us theirs and visually they looked just like us and anyone giving a verbal discription of them but looking at our picture would genuinely think they were talking about us. When they received our picture in the very same pose the reply came back. Sorry you are not for us... explain that lol

Personally though, I have to find someone physically attractive to take things further.

I've often told people that they aren't for me. If there is no physical attraction then my mind isn't stimulated.

I've met people without seeing a face pic first, just because I meet them for a drink doesn't mean I'm obligated to fuck them does it?

If it works out that we both are attracted, great. If I'm not attracted to her, we can still have a laugh and a joke and tell our life stories of fab or pof etc.

But to get to the meet stage with me, I'd already have to like your personality

I would say yes, desperate and shallow, some are not all, it amazes me on here how much attention a shadow can get with not one picture from what I've been told, sometimes it's worse than blind date! .. me personally I need to see a face, has to be an attraction, yes I get it's a sex site but still has to be a mutual attraction

I think as you show half your face in your pics there is a clear indication that you are very attractive and not ten years older than you say you are. I've been caught out in the past with old pics and women saying they are younger than they are. So after a first chat I ask for a face pic. Not to see them so much but to judge if there profile age is truthful. It is only what most women do in return to us men.

As someone else has said. You send a pic and the reply comes back sorry I don't find you attractive. Is that not the same???

I can say, of the three who I did meet with out pictures, one being a couple, who are actually now my best friends.

The other two were quite stunning, when I asked why they didn't offer or mention their face picture, both replied with "Shallow, and personality" comments, one who was extremely confident as she had every right to be claimed she loved seeing guys faces when they realise it's her they're meeting

For me it's about the whole package, personality matters first, but I have to fancy them physically too. I'm honest about it and will only meet those who I find attractive as a whole. If you think that's shallow, then that your perogative to think that

To me he came across as shallow as I took it as he was saying if they have a hot body he don't give a fuk what the face looks like. Would he meet if they weren't slim/athletic size 10 but had a pretty face ? If no then yes he is shallow imo "
