Timberland boots with laces!

Anyone else seen all the commotion over the new Timberland grey boots? They have been supplied with a pair of laces and some are saying it has racist overtones to it. As the laces 'supposedly' look like a noose and alongside a tree it's as though they are hanging black people. Don't get it myself as it's just a pair of laces on a boot.
