We don't because they simple fact is condoms don't stop you getting a sti oral sex you can still get one and if a lady gets the hpv virus it can lead to cancer too

well as most clinics now dont provide all clears just message you if there is a problem.. it would be a bit hard.. but it still doesn't mean anything except that they were tested.

I will not use condoms for oral but insist for full sex.

I cant see many wanting to meet like this plus its a pretty pointless as would have to go without sex for 2-3 months after a negative test and have another to actually be a clear test

We are both checked once a month and any people we meet ask a question we are open and honest about it. If we had ever caught anything then it would stop till at least 2 clear checks had come back before we played again

we get tested every 4-6 weeks but play with a few people most weeks... we get tested so we know and to be honest think if we caught something we woukd hang up our swinging shoes.

I generally ask people if they get tested regularly. I wouldn't expect them to be exclusive to me after getting tested, and exclusivity is the only way to be vaguely sure that they might not have anything.

we don't ask as people lie.. we have met people that when you talk to them realise they haven't been near a clinic recently just from the way they explain why they hate it. Like a guy told us how he hated the umbrella thing they stick down your cock... they haven't done that in a very very long time

The point is that she wouldn't get tested purely on the request of a potential meet. Neither would I. When I'm active in swinging ( not meeting at the moment), I'm very conscientious of my sexual health. Protect myself the best I can, and get regular testing. But at the end of the day, I do it for myself. Not for someone else, as my sexual is MY issue.

Anyone worried about sti's should treat anyone they meet as if they could potentially have something and protect themselves accordingly.

And there are many different strains, some cause genital warts in some people and not in others, some cause cell changes that may or may not lead to cervical cancer in some women and some don't.

The majority of women, if not all, have had one or more strains in their lifetime if sexually active, you can treat the warts but there is no treatment for the virus itself, the bodys immune system deals with it over time, which may be weeks, months, or years.

If a man's fucked a woman with it he's able to pass it on, he may develop warts, but also may not.

Only way to be safe is to be celibate

This is something to do with gestation times between the checks apparently.

I hear people say they get the results the same day I would lo e to know where I can get that service it would be so much better as that 2 week wait is a killer

Some clinics give you the results of some tests on the same day. Usually the big city clinics, and the clinics aimed at gay men. Some of the clinics do both a 'quick' HIV test and also do a longer one as well.

Not strictly true. I know a married couple in Manchester where one guy tested positive. The guy he then married is negative.

He's been treated and now tests negative and as such is no longer on medication.

They can't say he's cured because it's no officially curable but he's still testing negative.

My local clinic (which yes caters to a thriving gay community) has two different modes of operation. If you tick you have symptoms they will take your specimens and check them on the spot at their premises. If you test positive they will send you off with the needed pills/creams/antibiotics in hand. But if you say you have no symptoms you are put in the slow lane, your specimens get sent to the lab and they text you the (usually negative) results weeks later. I suspect they'd also flag/check on the spot anyone with a "high-risk" history or sex workers etc. It is about containing the spread of infection rather than alleviating personal fears. I am not sure what level of play would justify getting tested every month, it sounds excessive to me.

As a couple who are looking after our own sexual health we get tested regularly. We also always play safe with others by using condoms ( although we do not use them with each other). We are all responsible for our own sexual health but would definitely not play with others who didn't adhere to having protected sex with us or others

the clinic i visit every two months use a text service if there is an issue, if no issue then no notification, plus its too easy to lie, i could be lying now saying i visit a clinic for a check up every two months.

I don't think you can ever be 100% with anyone or anything, but hey you could get hit by a car tomorrow!

FYI i'm not lying i visit the Princess Royal clinic in Hudds every two months if any one wants a social next time lol

We don't because they simple fact is condoms don't stop you getting a sti oral sex you can still get one and if a lady gets the hpv virus it can lead to cancer too

dont laugh.. we have had a day out that included a trip to the clinic together, a meal and then a club visit. Where we were all investigating the dental dams they gave me ... which id never use lol but was funny playing with as so many hadnt seen one x

It all comes down to personal risk. In the swinging world, risks are taken during every meet - regardless of previous test results - and it's up to the individual what level of risk they take.

As has been said, people should treat any partner as if they have something and take precautions that feel right for them. It's all about taking ownership for your own sexual health.

In my view, oral should be unprotected - it's really not much fun otherwise, and penetrative sex should be with condoms.

At the end of the day, there is very little that is untreatable if the worst-case scenario plays out so risks with oral sex, or skin-to-skin non penetrative contact is something I am willing to take. Not everyone is the same of course.

It's always nice to know people take care of their sexual health by being checked, especially as latest research shows that even with HIV, someone who is positive but on effective treatment can't pass it on and therefore someone who doesn't get tested at all is MORE risky than someone positive, but at the end of the day it's not something I ever really ask, and I think if someone wanted a full health screen before playing with me then it would be a total mood killer.

I work in an office where there are million strains of bacteria and viruses doing the rounds at any given time. If I get sick with something I get treated and accept the risk. If we all lived in a bubble and took zero risks then we would be hermits and completely celibate. That doesn't sound much fun to me!
