Getting to know you?

Hi all, ok we're asking if you prefer to get to know someone on here before a possible meet or if you just prefer to skip that and go straight into a meet after an initial message on here?

What we mean by getting to know someone is actually chatting for a bit to find out if you actually click with the person/people who you could possibly end up meeting/playing with? Yes we fully understand this is a swingers site and not facebook or a matchmaking site but we feel it important to spend a bit of time chatting to see if we all click as our free time is very limited so we prefer to make sure that when we do have a meet then it's with the right people who are looking for the same as us. We just find a lot of people on here say they prefer to chat a bit then after 5 minutes of chatting they spring the "when do you want to meet" question which puts us right off.

I think the main thing is to establish compatibility and if someone moves too fast for you it means you aren't compatible...which as you say is the rationale behind chatting .

There are people who like to chat for a bit and it soon becomes clear who they are.

Also it doesn't matter how anybody else does things, you need to be happy with how you do them.

It varies really. Some have gone from a chat via email to a meet in the same day, others have been a drink first after a few emails. There was one time which was pretty much 'Fancy popping over?' and half hour later I was there. No real pattern I guess!

Given a choice I prefer a few emails first just to get a feel for them and what they really want/expect.

Totally agree that you need to make sure you're compatible, no point wasting precious spare time.

We like to ask about meeting soon on as there's no point chatting with people for a while and then finding out they can't do weekends for example.

But we try to do it in a open non pushy way.

Also one person's idea of chatting for a bit might mean 6 months while another's could mean 6 hours.

Thanks guys, and we are more than happy with how we do things, it's worked for us over the past 5 years of doing this, it was just a general interest as to see how many people actually prefer to know who they are meeting and to see if they are into the same as you and want the same as you do from this, some people want lots of random meets, some people just want the chat and that's it, and then some people prefer to click with people and are looking for a more regular with select people (as we do). We just find it interesting when people say to us they prefer to chat too then five minutes later that goes out of the window.

We prefer to meet face to face once we have established a mutual attraction to face and body pics. Not really into lots of messages back and fourth as we've done this before but when met in person things haven't worked out between us. Strange but it happens

I understand. Its very easy to say exactly what someone wants to hear regardless of your true intention .

We agree that there is no point wasting time chatting for days with people if there is absolutely no chance of meeting which is why we always ask them what they are looking for at the start then hopefully we will get a sense of it will be worth chatting for a bit or not.

Ah yes I see what you mean. It's frustrating when you make your preferences clear but still people don't get it.

Totally understand what you are saying and if that way works for you then fantastic, like we say everyone as there own comfortable way of doing it and which way works best for them
