Hi I have suffered from this as well and decided to go to see the doctor about it and it seemed I had very low testosterone and I suggest you pop along to your doc. Have a look at the link below. It sorted me out http://www.webmd.com/men/features/low-testosterone-explained-how-do-you-know-when-levels-are-too-low#1

For the depression part, keep active and keep yourself around other people. Try not to be alone. That helps.

Testosterone part: check your diet. Lots of 'healthy' food is a testosterone killer! Google it! Cut out those foods. Add good foods with a good range of vitamins and minerals (google that too) and get to a gym and lift weights. Natural testosterone booster.

Try all that for a few weeks before you start taking anything from your GP.

Zinc and magnesium tablets really turned my libido around last year.

Natural testosterone boost.

Also agree with this. I was seriously down last year mainly due to crushing work deadliness and stress. Although it didn't hugely affect my sex drive I was always tired and worn out and no energy. To cut a long story short I got really bad food poisoning on holiday abroad and had to take a week off work which led to a total re-evaluation of my life... so kind of good in a weird way! I started going to the gym again with my wife, I run every night and changed my diet (which was never bad, just more healthy food now) I never eat junk food and drink more water to stay hydrated. Totally stopped booze and take 1000mg vitamin c with zinc and multi vitamin every day.

Have to say it has transformed my life. Loads more energy, better sex drive, less stress. For me it was breaking the cycle which was pretty much 10 years of killing myself at work. I now put my health before work. Good luck!

...also I had border line depression. I don't mind admitting that. I was in a bad place last year. Too many people stigmatise it. Try those things OP and I bet you'll feel better.

West Wales and Cardiff

If you mean you take anti-depressants, they often affect sex drive.

Don't stop taking them - that's the worst thing you can do. It's worth knowing though.

I agree that exercise and a healthy diet are the best antidotes to this and the best way of getting back on track libido-wise.

Best of luck.

I find stress can do strange things to me. It either lowers my sex drive, but a lot of times it raises it since it is a form of release and when masturbating it totally distracts me from all the presures in my life.

To cope with stress/depression talking to your dr. or a therapist will help with depression and living a balanced lifestyle will help with stress. Stress and depression are often inseperable though I found.
