You stay strong:

- when you are abused verbally by the men who claim to be open minded and by those who claim to love you

- when you are the victims of rape in both war-torn and developed countries

- when you are the sole parent of babies and somehow you manage to scrape together a feast from your minuscule paycheck.

- when you are the sole parent teaching boys to be good men in society.

- when you somehow manage to be all things at once - a mother, a father, a wife, a lover, a boss, an employee, a nurturer and a pillar of society.

- when you are discriminated against by men who couldn't do half of what you do and go through half of what you go through.

- when you are constantly seen as a sex object and nothing more. How you manage to stay sane I will never know.

- when you love and love and love and still it's not enough so you lose it all

- when you stay with men who are immature, childish, uncouth, uninspirational but you still see the best in them.

- even if you are filled with dread of what the future holds for your daughters.

- when you have no choice but to cross an ocean and a half to another foreign land because the men can't be trusted to run a country the right and proper way without killing each other literally.

- even when men feel they have a place to tell you what to do with your body and still insist no matter how it much it infuriates you.

- when you are labelled a slut for enjoying the gift of sex like everyone else.

And now my fingers are freezing from typing this so I will end here.

This is to let you know that what you go through everyday is noticed and respected and is not in vain.
