Virtual reality...better than sex?

Here's one for the sensible people out there. What are your views on virtual reality replacing sex for pleasure?

We all know that the possibly of a decent virtual reality simulator is feasible but if you could slide on your suit and goggles and get an experience that was "tuned" to just what you like would you actually bother finding partners or simply save for "upgrades"?

I find the idea of virtual reality in sex/porn a very exciting one because surely if/when it arrives and as it becomes affordable it will become a very large industry worldwide?

I suspect the chaps would be more interested in this and be more inclined to favour it than the ladies but views anyone?

God no! Virtual reality can't kiss you! You can't get the touch of another person, it's no difference to any other sex toy to be honest, nothing compares to skin on skin

That's like asking whether I prefer the food from our favourite restaurant or Tesco sandwiches!

Of course I prefer the restaurant food, but don't always have the time, money or inclination to eat it.

When one is busy, Tesco sandwiches fulfil a need. So yes I'd like virtual reality sex from time to time, but it'll never surpass real sex.

The thing is it depends on how good the virtual sex is?

I'd assume that visual stimulation would be better because you could presumably "build" the perfect partner?

It also depends on what "aids" are involved. Lots of people probably have better sex in their head than in reality, i know i do. There's no sex as good as the sex you "invent" in your head when you want to be turned on.

You could be in a restaurant banging someone in the kitchen one second, the next you're you're in bed with 3 women.

Sex "on demand" and the ability to "dial up" a fantasy and then as good as enact it could be the future for sex.

It might sound far fetched but just imagine closing your eyes and technology taking over to the extent that you are made to feel everything as though it's actually happening. Forget goggles, i'm talking about plugging into your brain and putting the experience there, pretty much like "Total Recall".

Sure there will be a period where we go through naff goggles and suits, gloves and stimulators of various kinds but once we tap truly into the brain (as we are bound to at some point) sex for pleasure, like everything else will change beyond all recognition.

If you had 4 sons aged around 15 how expensive would your electricity bill be!

I would not be interested in this. There's to much complexity to my partner that I enjoy to make virtual reality feasible for me.

In addition it would me sex to easy. I don't like being rejected or feeling nervous before meeting someone, but I do love the chase and the feeling of adranlin after a succesful meet.

I need the human touch in other words.
