There are quite a few messages stating that a deleted message should be taken as a no thank you.

Seriously.

Do you think that anyone is going to work through their entire sent folder to check?

Just a thought

Based on what I've observed, people take more of an interest in their sent folder than they really should. So I wouldn't doubt it.

Marc's didn't believe I'd change it. Guess who was wrong?

It'll be back to normal next week.

Lol glad it's not just me that thinks people take stuff way too personally. I couldn't care less if someone reads my message or not. If they don't get back to me it's no big deal. Get a surprising number of messages from guys pointing out I've deleted or not read their message. Might just have been too busy chatting to someone else

Don't think I've ever checked our sent folder. Nearly all our messages get a reply.

I ask people to respond to me in most of my opening messages. If I don't have a response I take it as a sign my timing is wrong rather than them not being interested. But that's just me.........

The worst is the question marks. When you don't reply then have a barrage of messages off that person just going '????????'.

"Just checking if you got my last message" I did and it went this same way as this one 'delete'

I will send the same message twice after a few days gap. It's easy for it to get lost in a full inbox.

After that then assume a lack of interest, however lovely I clearly am

You're polite haha. I dont mind that. As i do sometimes miss messages. Some on here don't even give you 10 mins before the second message is sent though. The sad thing is, they could be lovely, but my brain already thinks 'desperate', which is a bit of a turn off lol.

I don't care if the message is deleted or not. If someone doesn't reply, they're not interested and I don't bother them again

"I don't care if the message is deleted or not. If someone doesn't reply, they're not interested and I don't bother them again"

But it's equally as likely that they've just had so many messages they haven't been able to look at them all. They may even just delete whole batches without looking. I don't send follow up messages but if I see a profile that says I messaged 2 weeks ago without reply I wouldn't necessarily think they are not interested...

I very rarely send a 'new' introduction message. You can probably count on one hand the anount I've sent to 'new' people this year!

I always attach face pics when I do so if they don't open or answer I will monitor for a short while then delete the attached pics before deleting the mail. I only monitor so I can delete the pics from the mail if they're not interested.

For normal everyday messages with people I know I delete straight away - it's up to them if or when they reply and I don't worry about it.

So I guess it depends how many you're sending. If you're sending loads of messages to all the ladies in your area I agree it will hard to maintain your sent box.

If you just send the occasional one its so much easier

I don't really check. Those that reply. Reply. Those that don't, meh

I don't store messages. I always delete, regardless if I fancy or not

hiding from cock pics.

There is really no need to check whether your message was read or deleted without being read.

If they are interested they will get back to you.

No need to worry about those who don't, and those who do will be lighting up your inbox anyway.

I have to be honest though, I have found myself (on the forums for example) bantering with someone on a thread, realising I actually enjoy talking to this person, and think they are quite cute. Had a little spy at their profile, and saw that they messaged me 3 weeks ago, and I'd missed it. So it is easily done when it travels too far down the thread.

I am, but only in the real world. Once the door is shut, or left slightly ajar, I'm very badly behaved

I wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea

Just to restate, the thread is about people who expect you to monitor if your message to them has been deleted or not.

I'd suggest that it implies a slightly exaggerated sense of their own importance, so I don't usually even send a message

Where I am there are relatively few women in which I'd be interested. Certainly not hundreds. It's different if you are a women. Why would you bother. There's buses passing all the time...

Is it when there's a thin blue line through the message you sent them that it's been deleted??
